குரு பக்தி……..கண்ணீர் வழிந்தது…..

ஸ்ரீஆதிசங்கர பகவத் பாதாள் சீடகளுக்கு பாஷ்ய பாடம் நடத்திக் கொண்டிருந்தார். அந்த சமயத்தில் ஸ்ரீ சங்கரரின் தாயார் சிவலோக ப்ராப்தி அடைந்த சமாசாரம் அவருக்கு ஞான த்ருஷ்டியில் தெரிந்தது. அவர் கண்களிலிருந்து தாமாகவே கண்ணீர் சொரிந்தது. கண்ணீர் தாரை தானாகவே வழிந்ததாகச் சொல்வார்கள்.

அதுபோல் ஸ்ரீ பெரியவாளுக்கு பைங்கனாடு ப்ரும்மஸ்ரீ கணபதி ஸாஸ்த்ரிகள் சிறு வயதில் பாடம் சொல்லிக் கொடுத்திருக்கிறார். ஒரு சந்தர்ப்பத்தில் ஸாஸ்த்ரிகள்விண்ணுலகம் ஏகிய செய்தி ஸ்ரீமடத்துக்குத் தெரிய வந்தது. அதைக் கேட்டதும் பெரியவா கண்களிலிருந்து தாரையாக கண்ணீர் வழிந்தது.

ஸ்ரீபெரியவாளுக்கு பண்டிதர்களிடம் அசாத்யமான ப்ரியம் இருந்ததுடன் , தன் குருவிடம் அளவில்லாத பக்தி இருந்தது தான் அதன் காரணம். அதனால்தான் சன்னியாசிகள் எந்த நிலையிலும் உணர்ச்சி வசப்படக்கூடாது என்ற விதியை அந்த ஒரு சில நொடிகள் ஒதுக்கி வைத்தார் போலும்.

ஸ்ரீபெரியவாளை ஈன்றெடுத்த அன்னை மறைந்தபோது கூட நீராடல், சில மணித்துளிகள் மௌனம், உபவாசம் நிகழ்ந்ததே அன்றி கண்ணீர் தோன்றவில்லை!

Shri Adi Shankara Bhagavad PadaaL was conducting classes (Bhashya Paadam) for His disciples. Just then, with the help of His ‘Gnana Dhrishti’, He realized that His mother had breathed her last. Tears started flowing down His eyes. It is said that the tears flowed involuntarily.

Paingaadu BrahmaRishi Ganapathi Sastrigal had conducted classes for MahaPeriyava during His young age. Once, the news that the SastrigaL had breathed his last reached Shri Matam. Hearing that, tears flowed down Periyava’s eyes.

Periyava not only had great affection for Pandits, He had tremendous devotion towards His Guru. That was the reason for this. Maybe that is why, for a few moments, He bypassed the rule that Sanyasis should not become emotional under any circumstances.

Even when Periyava’s mother passed away, all He did was take a bath, observed silence for a few hours and fasted. He did not shed tears
