During Mahaswami’s days, He realized that the bikshavandhanams happen at the Sri Matam by all sects of brahmins except Ashtasahasrams – periyava used to call them as “Yennayirathaar”. So He ordered few devotees to create an initiative to gather them all together and encourage them to do bikshavandhanam regularly. Earlier this was done a set of Bombay devotees but it seems it did not cover all the 8000ers. Now both our acharyas have revived this to expand and the goal is that all ashtasahasra sect of brahmins join the trust and be part of the bikshavandhanam activity. They further said that folks should not just send money but also come and be physically present as much as possible.
The next bikshavandhanam has been fixed for February 8, 2015 on the occasion of HH Sri Seshadri Swamigal’s Jayanthi day.
All are requested to be present at the Mutt premises by 9:00 am. All the devotees will participate in the Sri Chandramouleeswara Puja, Pada Puja for the Bhagavadpadhal, Nithya Puja & Pada Puja at the Mahaswami Adishtanam.
Their Holinesses will be most pleased to see the wholehearted participation of as many of the members as possible. Therefore, please make it convenient to attend the function and receive their blessings. Do feel free to bring your relatives who might be interested in attending the Bhikshavandanam, even if they are not members currently. They could become members on February 08, 2015. The lifetime membership for this is Rs 1000.
