HH Dalai Lama in his own words:
“I sought an audience with the Sankaracharya and met him at Kanchi. I saw and heard undiluted truth ringing in the voice of His Holiness – a voice of great wisdom, conviction, constantly smiling and in peace within himself. The first that stuck me on arrival was his extreme simplicity, austerity and true renunciation. For a moment I almost felt ashamed that I too call myself a monk – a Buddhist monk. The Sankaracharya created that reflection in my mind and I felt, “Here is a holy person and we can work together for the betterment of mankind’. I thoroughly enjoyed the spiritual experience”.
Words coming out of his heart – words coming out of a divine experience…..

Once Swami Chinmayananda came with Shri Gemini Sri Ramamurthy mama to have darshan of Periyava & did namaskaram.
Periyava asked him “A sanyasi shouldn’t do a namaskar to another sanyasi… Isn’t it?”
Swami Chinmayanda gave a great reply!
“Swami, I’m not a sanyasi!” Gemini Sri Ramamurthy Mama was astounded. Later Swamiji explained, “Compared to what He is (practices), none of us are worth to be called a ‘sanyasi’…”
We lived in the time He lived – we talk about Him all the time – what more we want!
