This year the Akila Bharata Suvasini Bhikshavandanam was offered at Sri Kanchi Mutt on Tuesday the 3rd September.2013.This annual Bhikshavandanam during Chathurmasya is being offered at Sri Kanchi Mutt for the past more than sixty years.This was started with the blessing of Sri Mahaperiyavaal by Pollachi JayamPatti, who collected contributions from as many people as possible and offered the Bhikshavandanam. The tradition set by her, is now being carried forward by Her son Sri Chandrasekar and her Daughter in law Srimathi Lalitha Chandrasekar.
Bhikshavandanam was offered by the Suvasinis present, during Sri Chandramouleeswara Puja. His Holiness Periyaval ,on behalf of the Suvasinis,performed Pushpanjali and Kanakabhishekham to Sri Sri Sri Mahaperiyavaal at the Adhishtanam After Chandramouleeswara Puja His Holiness Bala Periyaval performed Pushpanjali and Kanakhabhishekam to Sri Mahaperiyavaal at the Adhishtanam.
