During this trip, I was gifted with quite some books. Not sure if I carry the look of a book-worm ?! Anyway, they all are great books. Thanks to all who gifted these….Here are they::
- சிவ சாகரத்தில் சில அலைகள் by Shri S. Ganesha Sharma, a book on HH Sivan Sir, Poorvashrama younger brother of HH Mahaperiyava. Periyava’s own words about His brother, “My brother Sachu is a mahan by birth”! Finished this book in one shot – small book. After reading this book, I recollect the videos of HH Sivan Sir that I still have. Copies available by calling these mobile numbers 9600015230/9443678057/9940552516. There is another book about HH Sivan Sir – “ஏணிப்படியில் மாந்தர்கள்” – haven’t read this one yet.
- தந்தது உன் தன்னை! கொண்டது ஏன் தன்னை ! by Smt Akila Karthikeyan, a book of lifetime experiences of Sri Pradosham Mama with Mahaperiyava – lots of information. The only book to know everything about Sri Pradosham mama and his experience with Him – AMAZING. Still reading this – this is a thick book. Shri Ganesh gifted this book to me. - ஸ்ரீ லலிதா சஹஸ்ர நாம ஸ்தோத்ரம் with Tamil explaination by Dr Radhakrishna Sastrigal, Srirangam. My friend’s father Sri Panchapakesan, Secretary, S.R.College, Trichy gifted me this. Not even started reading this – this is a 700 page book. After interviewing him during my trip and talking to him, I can understand and appreciate the depth of the matter – an absolute treasure – every household should have this book and more importantly, READ IT! - Moments of a Lifetime , Experiences with Paramacharya of Sri Kanchi Kamakoti Peetam – Published by Shri HG Rangan Goud, mininghospet@sify.com – Very nicely color printed book – several experiences from the kamakoti.org is also there. Gifted by HH Mettur Swamigal when I got His darshan at Govindapuram.
- In the presence of the Divine, Narratives of Experiences with Maha Periyaval Vol I by Smt Sujatha Vijayaraghavan – (ISBN 978-81-8465-949-8). Gifted to me by HH Mettur Swamigal.
- இமயஜோதி சிவானந்தர் by Vikatan Publications – completed in one flight trip from Chicago to New York! Good to know about mahans like Him…He reminded me of Pattinathar, who threw all the property in the road and walked away!
Will take some time to finish all these books…Hopefully I will make some good progress soon…
