I carefully chose this article as a New Year message from Periyava. If one reads through this fully, one would understand the seriousness of the message and our responsibility for the year and beyond. I hope my choice is right.
In 2009, we conducted Maharudram in Chicago and it was a grand event. During that event, we collected money 
When I started this blog, I categorically rejected any idea of attaching commercial activity tied to this blog. Now, based on Periyava’s message and everlasting wish of reviving vedic culture, I am wondering if we all could collectively do something towards this……I know that no single person can do it alone. However we all can collectively could make some difference…..There are few options – (1) you can donate whatever you want to any veda pada sala of your choice directly (2) donate via Kanchi Mutt (3) we all can pool some money and identify the ones that really need our support – particularly the ones in rural places…. As mentioned above, we do have some trusted people who has been doing this for a while – someone similar to Shri Shivaraman…..
I am sure every year, we all plan for some $$$ towards charity etc. All I request is to keep this cause in mind and support this… If you think, that this idea is wise, please let me know. Based on the response I get, we can take a call. This is just a thought – none is obligated…
Let us pray Sri Mahaperiyava & Kanchi Acharyas to bless us with more devotion to Tripurasundari sametha Lord Chandramouleeswarar.

‘ லோக க்ஷேமம்’ என்று சொன்னது வேத சப்தத்தாலும், யக்ஞாதி கர்மாக்களாலும் சுஷ்மமாக ஏற்படுகிற நன்மையை மட்டுமல்ல.
வேதாந்தத்தை பார்த்தால் தான் சகல தேசத்தில் உள்ளவர்களுக்குமே பொதுப்படையான மகோன்னத தத்துவங்கள் கிடைக்கின்றன.இந்தத் தத்துவங்களால் எல்லா தேசத்தாரும் ஆத்மவ்ருத்தி அடைகிறார்கள். வேதாந்தத்தை பார்க்க வேண்டும் என்ற எண்ணம் எப்படி இவர்களுக்கு வந்தது?
அவர்கள் இங்கே வந்த போது வேதரட்ஷணமே ஜீவியப்பணி என்று ஒரு கூட்டம் இருந்ததால் தான் ‘இதென்ன இப்படி ஆயுள் முழுவதையும் அற்பணிக்கும் படியான புஸ்தகம்’ என்று அவர்களுக்கு ஒரு ஆர்வம் பிறந்து அதை ஆராய்ச்சி செய்தார்கள். பல விஷயங்களை தெரிந்து கொண்டார்கள்.
குறிப்பாக, உலகம் முழுவதிலும் உள்ள பண்பாடுகளில் (cultures) இருக்கிற ஒற்றுமைகளை இந்த ஆராய்ச்சியால் தெரிந்து கொண்டார்கள்.லோகத்துக்கு எல்லாம் உபயோகம் என்பது மட்டுமில்லாமல், லோகம் முழுக்கவே வேத culture தான் ஆதியில் இருந்தது என்பதே ஏன் அபிப்ராயம்.
வேதத்துக்காக என்றே சகலத்தையும் தியாகம் செய்யும் ஒரு கூட்டம்நம் தேசத்தில் இல்லாவிட்டால், மற்றவர்களுக்கு அதில் எப்படி பிடிப்பு ஏற்படும்?
உதவாத விஷயம் என்று நாமே ஒன்றை விட்டு விட்டால், மற்றவர்களுக்கு அதன் தாத்பர்யங்களை அறிவதில் எப்படி ஈடுபாடு உண்டாகும்?
ஜாதி அழிவதை பற்றி எனக்கு கவலை இல்லை. லோகக்ஷேமம் போகிறதே என்று தான் கவலைபடுகிறேன். வேதரட்ஷணம் விட்டு போனால் இந்த பரம்பரையை மறுபடி உண்டு பண்ண முடியாதே என்றுதான் கவலை படுகிறேன்.
நம் தேசத்தில், சகல ஜாதியாரை உத்தேசித்து மட்டுமின்றி, எல்லா தேச மக்களையும் உத்தேசித்து வேத பரம்பரையை தொடர்ந்து இருக்கப் பண்ணவேண்டியது இப்போதைய தலைமுறையின் பெரிய பொறுப்பு.
லோகம் முழுவதும் க்ஷேமமாக இருக்க வேண்டும் என்பதே நமது வேதத்தின் சாரம்.
