Jaya Jaya Sankara Hara Hara Sankara – To the Mahalaya Paksham Gho Dhanam posting (HERE) by Sri Periyava’s grace there were some very good responses and we were able to do more than forty (40) Gho dhanams. In order to do Gho dhanam, we rescued around 20 cows/calves (all native breed cows) directly from slaughter house over the two week period including rescuing a few on the Mahalaya Amavasya day.
We did Gho dhanam the proper way with Cow, Calf, and Vadhyar. The Gho Dhanam started off with Smt. Saraswathi Thiagarjan Amma and continued for the next couple of weeks. Many of the donors made in person and for those who could not make it sankalpam was done in their family/pithru’s name, Gho Puja and Gho Dhanam were done. Pictures/videos were captured and sent over to donors who could not make it. Please see a few pictures/videos of the rescued cows/calves as well as the Gho dhanam pictures.
