‘பிரசாதம் மண்ணில் விழுந்ததையே எடுத்துக்கொள்ளச் சொல்லிவிட்டாரே!’ – ராமசாமி அய்யர்.

கட்டுரை-ரா.வேங்கடசாமி காஞ்சி மகானின் கருணை நிழலில் புத்தகத்திலிருந்து புதிய தட்டச்சு-வரகூரான் நாராயணன்.
ராமசாமி அய்யர் சேலத்தில் ஒரு பிரபல வக்கீல். தொழில் நன்றாக நடந்தது. காஞ்சி மகானின் அனந்தகோடி பக்தர்களில் அவரும் ஒருவர். ஒரு தடவை தரிசனத்துக்காக மகானின் இருப்பிடம் சென்றார் வக்கீல். வரிசையில் நின்றவர்க்கு வழக்கம் போல விபூதிப் பிரசாதம் வழங்கப்பட்டது.
மகான் கொடுக்கும்போது தவறியதா…இல்லை கையில் பிரசாதம் விழுவதற்கு முன்பு கையை இழுத்துக் கொண்டாரா என்று தெரியவில்லை. ஆனால் பிரசாதம் மண்ணில் விழுந்துவிட்டது.
“கீழே விழுந்ததை எடுப்பானேன்?” என்று மீண்டுமொரு தடவை ராமசாமி அய்யர், தன் கையை நீட்டினார் பிரசாதத்துக்காக….மகான் என்ன செய்தார்?
“கீழே விழுந்ததையே எடுத்துக்கோ!” என்று சொல்லி விட்டார். ராமசாமி அய்யர், மண்ணோடு மண்ணாக இருந்த அந்தப் பிரசாதத்தை எடுத்துக் கொண்டார்.
‘என்ன…மகான் தன்னை மண்ணில் விழுந்ததையே எடுத்துக் கொள்ளச் சொல்லி விட்டாரே!’ என்கிற மனவருத்தம் ஊர் வரும்வரை தீரவே இல்லை.
சில தினங்களுக்குப் பின் தஞ்சாவூரில் வக்கீல் ராமசாமி அய்யருக்குச் சேரவேண்டிய நிலபுலன்கள் நீண்ட நாட்கள் போராட்டத்துக்குப் பின் வந்து சேர்ந்தது. வக்கீலுக்குச் சொல்ல முடியாத மகிழ்ச்சி. ‘கிடைக்காது’ என்று நினைத்த நிலங்கள் வந்து சேர்ந்தது என்றால் யாருக்குத்தான் சந்தோஷம் வராது?
இதை காஞ்சி மகானிடம் சொல்லி ஆசி பெற வேண்டி அவசர அவசரமாக மகானின் இருப்பிடத்திற்க்குச் சென்றார் வக்கீல். இவரைப் பார்த்தவுடன் மகாபிரபு என்ன சொன்னார் தெரியுமா?
“மண்ணில் கிடந்த பிரசாதத்தை எடுக்க ரொம்ப யோசிச்சியே…இப்ப நிறைய மண் கிடைச்சுதா?” என்றார்.
இத்தனைக்கும் ராமசாமி வாயைத் திறந்து, தான் அங்கு எதற்காக வந்தோம் என்று சொல்லவே இல்லை!
உள்ளத்தை ஊடுருவிப் பார்க்கும் மகானின் அளவிட முடியாத கருணைக்கு இது ஓர் உதாரணம்.

Ramaswamy Iyer is a famous Advocate in Salem. He was doing good in his work. He is one of the countless devotees of the Kanchi Saint. Once he went to have the darshan of Maha Periyavaa at his dwelling. He was standing in the queue and as usual was blessed with Vibhuthi Prasadam.
Whether it slipped when the saint gave or did Ramaswamy Iyer pulled his hands back before getting it, but the Prasadam fell on the ground.
Why should I take which has fallen down, thought Ramaswamy Iyer and extended his hands again for the prasadam. What did the Saint do?
Take the prasadam from the ground, he said. Ramaswamy Iyer then took the prasadam from the ground which had got mixed with the sand.
Why is that the Saint asked me to take the prasadam which fell on the ground, discontent feeling of Ramaswamy Iyer did not fade out till he reached his native.
After a few days, some lands in Thanjavur that belonged to Advocate Ramaswamy Iyer came back to him after a long struggle. Advocate’s happiness cannot be explained. If a property that is intended to be “un-obtained’ and in a hopeless situation, is acquired who will not be happy?
In order to convey this to Kanchi Periyavaa and get his blessings, the Advocate urgently left for the Saint’s abode. Did any of you know what did the Saint say as soon as he saw him?
“You hesitated a lot to take the prasadam from the ground, but did you get lot of lands now?, he uttered.
Ramaswamy Iyer did not even open his mouth and tell as to why he came!!!!
This is a clear example for the Saint’s indeterminate grace, who makes a way into the heart.
