The Dharma of Cow Protection which has taken deep root in our ancient culture should be in our blood and action. Just how a cow is longing and desperate to feed its calf, we should display that same emotion when it comes to doing Gho Samrakshanam. – Sri Kanchi Maha Periyava.
Dear Devotees,
This being the festive season we will have many friends and relatives visiting our homes on the occasion of Navarathri till Deepavali or Pongal festival.
We can use this occasion to spread a great dharma that was very close to our Periyava.
We can create awareness on Cow Protection and Feeding by keeping a Hundi (Piggy Bank) with a label & cow photo on top of it for Gho Samrakshanam. We should contribute every day and can tell people who visit our home about this dharma and ask them to contribute whatever little they can when they visit our home. This will also get all the children thinking big time on Gho Samrakshanam. We should try doing this every year. Contribution may be tiny but getting the sense of urgency and awareness for the future is very important. If we own any businesses, we can keep a hundi there as well like we see a piggy bank for many orphaned organizations in many retail outlets. The collected money can be handed over to a Gosala of your trust and choice.
This idea was taken from Sri Pasu Raghavan and slightly expanded upon. Ram Ram
