Jaya Jaya Shankara Hara Hara Shankara – Friday July 15 is Aashada Shukla Ekadasi in Bharatha Desam, a very auspicious and important day. Millions of devotees (mostly poor and illiterate) from across the country and near by villages are thronging Pandiraipuram Kshethram to have Darshan of Lord Vittal and Rakhumai on this great day. Please see the picture below of Panduranga temple at night glowing and gearing up for Aashada Shukla Ekadasi. This was taken just a few hours back. Aashada Shukla Ekadasi is considered as important as Maha Shivarathri, Vaikunta Ekadasi, etc in Maharashtra Varkari Sampradayam. In the Anugraha Bhashanam of HH Bala Periyava published a few days back, he mentions about the significance of this Kshethram, our Adi Achayaral’s visit to this Kshethram and HH Pudhu Periyaval’s initiatives. On this auspicious day let’s mentally be there in Pandaripuram (if not physically), pray to Periyava and Lord Vittalan to give us Bhakthi, Gnanya, Vairagyam, and importantly the ability to perform the kainkaryams mentioned in Deivathin Kural. Let’s also remind ourselves to observe fast, especially abstain from eating rice on this day. Please see Periyava’s message published a few weeks back on the same. Ekadasi Vrattam is an important Dharma that needs to be revived, let’s pray at the holy feet of Periyava in making this happen. Periyava Thiru Padham Charanam. Jai Vittala, Ram Krishna Hari Vasudeva Hari, Ram Ram!
