Sage of Kanchi

End of my recent India trip!

Periyava_with_Bala_Periyava

Typing this from London airport – waiting for my connection to Chicago….

Three weeks went too fast – as usual. Purpose was to spend time with my parents, which I thought I did to some extent. Planned to meet few folks within Chennai but couldn’t do it due to lack of time/transport/hot hot hot days. This trip is quite memorable for me as both Periyavas were in Chennai during my entire stay period. So it was a 30 mts ride from W.Mambalam to RA Puram to see Chandarmouleeswarar puja and attended puja to heart’s content!

I was very fortunate to spend a lot of time and interact with HH Balaperiyava. He was very kind enough to discuss on the projects that we have been doing through the blog. He gave some advices on certain areas of our work/blog. Listening to HH Balaperiyava is like listening to a visionary CEO! He is full of ideas/plans on how we all should work hard to revive the culture that has been lost in the past few decades. He also introduced lots of absolutely great folks to me who are doing different projects under the governance of Sri Balaperiyava with whom we need to collaborate on those initiatives. Some of the projects that were discussed::

1. Thanjavur Parampara (http://www.thanjavurparampara.com)
2. Panchadravidam (http://panchadravida.com)
3. Women empowerment & Cultural education for all
4. Gho rakshanam
5. Bringing our village atmosphere near Chennai – more targeted towards the next generation kids

I will be writing details about each of these projects and the idea is how we all Sri Matam devotees can/should participate in making these projects successful.

I have a pet project, which I told Periyava also – “Vaanam paartha Sivalingam” – there are so many just in Kanchipuram city itself and also outside for which we need to do our best in bringing up a very basic infrastructure. HH Mahaperiyava had talked a lot about this. Sri Balaperiyava heard this point also.

I originally planned to go to RA Puram on the day I left but due to lack of time to pack, I couldn’t make it!

More work to do! More support is needed – not just monetary but also volunteers from everywhere…These are our projects… Let us all do this together!

More to come soon….

Hara Hara Sankara Jaya Jaya Sankara!
