Sri Sankara Mattham, Mumbai – Kumbhabisekam on June 2nd

Sri Sankara Matam, Mumbai is going to perform kumbhabisekam on June 2nd. They have been performing various activities for the past several decades. I request all the local Bombay devotees to donate generously to support our matham and more importantly participate in this event and in all events as much as possible. Only when someone is away from motherland, they can tell how much we miss such golden opportunities to have such mathams near us.

Besides the listed activities, three other activities worth mentioning are;

1. Surya Namaskaram with Aruna Parayanam every Sunday which has been going on for more than 45 years. i remember attending the Surya Namaskaram in the old Sankara Matam while i was in school 8th or 9th grade.

2. Surya Namaskaram for 41 days at the beginning of Kartikai masam and overlapping onto Dhanur masam. This activity has also been going on for many many years.

3. Dhanur masam – Upanishad chanting going around the streets in Matunga starting at 5:15 am. This activity has also been going on for many many years.
