I am getting lots of emails regularly – particularly from elderly people – about computer glitches while accessing this blog or a post/page etc. Errors like “Ah snap” in chrome browser etc. Also I sympathize the situation, I am unable to help you any further due to various reasons – primary reason being me being in US – way far away from you all. I am really clueless on how to help you if your entire browser crashes. As a computer IT guy, here are my immediate suggestions ::
- I am sure most of you are using Windows computers. It will have Internet Explorer (IE) as a browser. Try it out – if that works, keep using it.
- If you are little bit knowledgeable, install Firefox or Safari and see if that helps
- If you have tried all of them, and if all browsers fail on you, please email me under what scenario, they crash – does it crash when going to any site or only to this blog. If it is only to this blog, does it crash when going to a post with photos, videos, pdf document embedded in it? Not that I have a solution there – at least it will give me an idea on what might be causing this…..
- Other than these, I am running out of options…I am requesting more ideas from others….
Now a request to tech-savvy folks in the blog – can any of you put together a FAQ document on things around browsers, how to download videos, audios etc? This might help several folks…Additionally can I get some volunteers in Chennai who are willing to take few calls to help some mamas/thathas out in this forum on these issues? You are my L1 support 🙂
