As we learnt from puranas, Lord Parameshwaran and Goddess Uma have greater liking towards sama veda. From one of the puranas, we know that Ravanan survived a great danger by singing in sama veda to please Shivan and got boons. Such is the mahima of Sama Veda.
As part of Kanchi mutt’s ongoing support to sustain vedas, Sri Kanchi Kamakoti Peetadhipathi Jagadguru Sri Sankaracharya Swamigal has ordained that a SAMA VEDA SABHA be held regularly to preserve the identity of sama vedic pundits and grow it. On 25th November, this sabha will be held in Sankaralayam @Royapet, Chennai.
