As you all are aware, the much-awaited kumbabishekam event for manimandapam happened in a very grand manner. I attended only the kumbabishekam day (July 5th). This project is truly a dream come true – with Periyava’s blessings ended in a divine way. Kudos to the whole team for their undeterred effort to make this happen.
It was absolutely a treat to the eyes and ears to see all Sri Matam devotees gathered in one place in North America and chanting “Hara Hara Sankara Jaya Jaya Sankara”. My guess is at least 500 devotees were there on the kumbabishekam afternoon only. I was told that the day before there were at least 3000 devotees in the temple. There were drones flying around the temple for aerial views and chopper was rented to throw flowers etc…I have never seen/heard this kind of attendance for any temple. Events happened in the most authentic way – no compromises.
Sri Periyava came on live stream before purnahuti but due to His transit in Kasi and related network issues, couldn’t attend the kumababishekam event. However He passed His blessings to all.
One thing that caught everyone’s attention is the number of dedicated and passionate volunteers who managed every step of the event for all days – I personally witnessed on the last day.
I was discussing this with a friend of mine – NJ team has done a fantastic job of bringing the next generation into our Periyava fold. To me, more than building the temple, building that younger devotee base is a huge milestone.
NJ manimandapam team needs all the credit and lots of rest!
Now that the temple is built as intended, our devotees in NJ should actively participate in the events on an ongoing basis to keep the momentum on.
On the personal front, I had a chance to meet many for the first time with whom I have been interacting for a long time related to Periyava kainkaryams etc.
