‘நம்மால் ஹிம்சைக்கு ஆளான ஜீவராசிகளுக்கெல்லாம் நல்ல கதி கிடைக்க வேண்டும்; நம்மை பகவான் மன்னிக்க வேண்டும்’ என்ற எண்ணத்துடன் எல்லா உயிர்களின் திருப்திக்காகவும் பலி கொடுக்கப்படுகிறது. இந்த விசுவத்தில் எவ்வளவு பிராணிகள் உண்டோ, நாய், காக்கை, சமூகப்பிரஷ்டன் உள்பட எல்லார்க்கும் எல்லாவற்றுக்கும் வைசுவதேவத்தில் பலி உண்டு. வைசுவதேவம் செய்தால் நாம் செய்கிற பல தோஷங்கள் விலகும். பல உயிர்களுக்கு ஆகாரம் கிடைக்கும். – ஜகத்குரு ஸ்ரீ சந்திரசேகரேந்திர சரஸ்வதி ஸ்வாமிகள்

A sacrifice is made with this prayer: ‘All living things hurt or killed by us should attain a higher abode. God may pardon us for these acts’. The sacrifice made during Vaisvadevam will benefit all lives, that of a dog, a crow or even a person who is anti-social!
