It needs mention here that Mughal emperors like Akbar and Shajahan and even in the quite recent past Amir from Afghanisthan, have realised the importance of cow protection and have enacted laws for the same. Therefore I believe that if we explain about it in a proper way, the citizens of this nation belonging to various groups will offer support to us. Also it will bring upon a change in the prevailing situation where the government is unable to enforce this law and carry out the noble act of protecting the cows as it cannot antogonise a particular group and this will lead to cow protection being secured by law. – Jagadguru Chandrasekharendra Saraswathy Swamigal

Although I have been posting monthly updates on our cow rescue efforts there are certain things I want to call out so we are all aware of the intrinsic details behind our cow rescue operations. While we primarily rescue cows that are in slaughter houses or going to be sold to slaughter houses/Kerala, of late, the word about our rescue operations have spread around and we have been getting calls to rescue cows that are lying in severe distress due to them being fatally injured in accidents as they would have been run over by trains/buses/lorries/bikes, etc. Unfortunately these are all hit and run incidents and no one bothers to even find the culprit behind these atrocities. Whenever we get notified of these incidents, immediately we arrange for transport and rescue those cows and bring it our temporary shelter, calm them down, provide them fodder and water and then start the treatment. The cow lifting equipment we have helps a great deal as well. We have rescued several cows in this manner. Below is one small cow (heifer) that was hit by a train yesterday and was lying on the side of the railway track with no food or water for more than a day before we were notified and we took the cow to our place last night. Some of the pics may be a little disturbing but this the ground reality we are dealing on a daily basis which we need to be aware of.

I wanted to call this out as I want to make all the cow rescue contributors aware that every penny you contribute is utilized in causes like these.

Pictures and video clips of the cow that was rescued yesterday after being hit by a train and lying in severe pain on the side of the railway track for more than a day with no food/water. We can see the cow in tears when it is boarded in our truck after being given some water to drink. The last video clip is the cow in a better state after being given first aid and some fodder/water in our shelter.
