It is sad to know that Sri Kamakshidasan mama has reached the holy feet of Mahaperiyava. As all of us know how mama is a blessed soul, handpicked by Mahaperiyava to do Kamakshi upasana all his life. If you listen/read about incidents in mama’s life, it will be astonishing how great blessings mama had etc. I have interacted a lot lot lot with mama before he moved to Chennai. Here is a small write-up on how Sri P.Swaminathan was sent by Mahaperiyava Himself to be with mama just few hours before he passed away.

மகா பெரியவா பக்தர் (பெருங்களத்தூர்) காமாட்சிதாசன் மாமா இன்று மதியம் பெரியவா திருவடிகளை அடைந்து விட்டார்.
நண்பர் கிருஷ்ணன் குடும்பத்தினருடன் நேற்று காஞ்சிபுரம் சென்று கொண்டிருந்தேன்.
படப்பை நெருங்கிக் கொண்டிருக்கும்போது ஒரு போன் –
பேசியவர் – காமாட்சிதாசனின் (மகள் வழி) பேத்தி மீனாட்சி.
‘‘மாமா… தாத்தா ரொம்ப முடியாம இருக்கார். உங்க பேரைச் சொல்லி ‘பார்க்கணும்… வரச் சொல்லு’ன்னார்.
தாத்தாவுக்குத் தெரிஞ்சு நிறைய சுவாமிநாதன்கள் இருக்கிறதுனால ‘எந்த சுவாமிநாதன்?’னு கேட்டேன்.
‘உபன்யாசகர்’னு சொன்னார்.
ரொம்ப மோசமான நிலைலதான் இருக்கார். நீங்க எப்ப முடியுமோ, வந்து பாத்துட்டுப் போங்கோ மாமா’’ என்று சொன்னார்.
காஞ்சிபுரம் சென்று விட்டுத் திரும்பும்போது பெருங்களத்தூரில் காமாட்சிதாசன் மாமாவைத் தரிசித்து விடலாம் என்று தீர்மானிக்கப்பட்டது. அவரை இறுதியாக ஒரு முறை தரிசிக்க, பெரியவாளே இந்த சந்தர்ப்பத்தை எனக்கு ஏற்படுத்திக் கொடுத்தார் என்றே இப்போது தோன்றுகிறது.
ஓரிக்கையில் விஷயத்தைச் சொல்லி, விபூதி பிரசாதம் வாங்கிக் கொண்டு திரும்புகையில் நாங்கள் அனைவருமே காமாட்சிதாசன் மாமாவை அவரது பெருங்களத்தூர் இல்லத்தில் (தாயுமானவர் தெரு) தரிசித்தோம்.
படுக்கையில் இருந்தவாறு குளறலாகப் பல வார்த்தைகள் சொன்னார். சிலவற்றைப் புரிந்து கொள்ள முடியவில்லை.
அரை மணி நேரம் அங்கு இருந்து விட்டு ஆறுதலான வார்த்தைகள் சொன்னேன்.
‘‘பெரியவா விபூதி பிரசாதத்தை நீங்களே அவருக்கு இட்டு விடுங்கோ மாமா… தாத்தா கஷ்டப்படறதைப் பார்த்தா ரொம்ப சங்கடமா இருக்கு’’ என்றார் பேத்தி மீனாட்சி.
பெரியவாளைப் பிரார்த்தித்துக் கொண்டு விபூதி இட்டு விட்டேன். மீதி விபூதியை அவரது தலைமாட்டில் இருக்குமாறு சொன்னோம்.
அவரை நேரில் பார்த்து 24 மணி நேரம்கூட ஆகவில்லை…
இன்று மகா பெரியவாளின் திருப்பாதங்களை அடைந்து விட்டார்.

Oh come on Sri Mahesh: Why should you “feel sad to know that Sri Kamakshidasan mama has reached the holy feet of Mahaperiyava”? Isn’t it a cause for feeling happy and celebration? PLEASE, if per chance tomorrow you get to know that I have attained the lotus feet of Sri Mahaaperiyavaa, DO NOT FEEL SORRY FOR IT. Feel happy that one tormented soul has obtained freedom from the cycle of birth and death. I would request all my well-wishers and fellow-devotees to sport new clothes, and throw a feast to all their near and dear ones with Paal Paayasam containing liberal amount of dry grapes, cashew, baadham and pista.
I am jealous of Sri Kaamaakshidaasan Maamaa. How I wish, how I yearn, how I thirst to be in his place! Oh Sri Periyavaa!
well said. while one can feel sad that a great soul has left the world , there is no point in saying we are sad that he has reached the lotus feet of Mahaperiyava, Either we are writing without understanding what we are writing or lack conviction in our own statement that he has really reached Mahaperiyava,

I also felt odd at the choice of words.He may have missed the hidden meaning by overlook.
Mornings are absolutely crazy for me at work. When this news came, I was in a middle of many meetings and I still managed to post this. Dont have the luxury to think through many things to write. Whenever I make posts in a rush, I get a backlash – this is my 10 years of blogging experience.
On a philosophical note, leaving this mortal body is not our choice – do we need to celebrate or feel sorry about this? It is upto individuals. Are those people, who feel sad are spiritually not progressed? No – when Bhishma died, Arjuna, Dhuriyodhana & co all cried like babies. Isn’t Arjuna an elevated soul who heard Bagawan’s Gita 1-on-1? So why did he cry? Just the plain fact – humans! We are bound by emotions and feelings. Don’t we all cry when our relatives leave this world (including Sri Venkat, Sri Ramanadasan etc)? Sri Kamakshidasan mama had helped many devotees by praying for them to Kamakshi, doing puja for their problems etc. I am sure those devotees, who were benefited by mama would be sad. It is easy to pretend like we are gnanis while in reality we are just humans.
I am not defending a bit of what I wrote – I am just saying that I am just human too.
could not reply to mahesh and hence posting here. yes we are sad that a great soul has departed. We are not Jnanis as you said to not feel any emotion and are very much human. The intent is not to criticize mahesh. Without his posts we would not be updated of various matters connected with Mahaperiyava. it was just a comment that we need not say we feel sad that someone has reached Mahaperiyava’s feet as it sounds odd. thank you
