ச்யவன மஹர்ஷி கோ மஹிமையைச் சொல்லும் ச்லோகங்களில் ஒன்று:

நிவிஷ்டம் கோகுலம் யத்ர ச்வாஸம் முஞ்சதி நிர்பயம் |
விராஜயதி தம் தேசம் பாபம் சாஸ்யாபகர்ஷதி ||

என்ன அர்த்தமென்றால்: “எந்த தேசத்தில் பசுக்கள் தங்களுக்கு ஹிம்ஸை நேருமோ என்று பயப்படாமல் கோகுலங்களில் நிம்மதியாக மூச்சு விட்டுக் கொண்டிருக்கின்றனவோ அந்த தேசமே எல்லாப் பாபங்களும் விலகப் பெற்று ப்ரகாசமாக விளங்கும்.”

நம்முடைய பாரத தேசம் அப்படி ஆவதற்கு, அதை அந்த மாதிரி ஆக்குகிற மனப்பான்மையையும் செயற்பான்மையையும் நாம் பெறுவதற்கு கோவைக் கண்ணாகப் பேணிய கண்ணன் அருள் புரிவானாக! – ஜகத்குரு ஸ்ரீ சந்திரசேகரேந்திர சரஸ்வதி ஸ்வாமிகள்

One of the Slokas of Shyavana Maharishi which describes the greatness of cows:

Nivishtam Gokulam Yathra Svasam Munjathi Nirbayam |
Virajayathi Tham Desam Papam Sasyabakarshathi ||

The meaning of this is: “The country where the cows breathe easy and feel safe in their sheds that no harm can come to them there, that country will prosper and shine brightly being devoid of all sins”.

Jaya Jaya Sankara Hara Hara Sankara – First of all thank you for your kind financial contributions. With a slew of things to take care off I could not get to every e-mail /contribution and will acknowledge but will certainly do so in the next couple of weeks.

Secondly, my gratitude to all of you for all the support by sending e-mails to Smt. Maneka Gandhi and other officials to stop THIS auction. Several of you sent me the response received back from Smt. Maneka Gandhi’s office. The response by Mrs Gandhi is vague in several aspects. First the mobile no. of the collector Shri Madhusudhan Reddy mentioned in the letter has been switched off the past 3 days. No communication could be established nor the content specified in the e-mail could be validated. Next, as mentioned in the response the govt. farm just cannot handover the cows to a gosala without cancelling the auction. Remember this is a public auction; what will happen to all the folks who have already taken the DD to participate in the auction? The right thing would be to cancel the auction and request the interested Ghosala(s) to take the cows after required checks and verification (Cost, Capacity, AWB certification, etc.). With a day to go and from all the reliable sources the auction is going to happen. Myself and Viswanathan starting in the early hours of tomorrow to Chettinad. It will take us atleast three days to be back home. Tomorrow we register ourselves at the auction and meet some local people to help us out, participate in the auction on Tuesday, transport the cows and other animals safely on Wednesday. Concurrently, we are looking for places where these innocent jeevans can be kept. We are also moving through a few locals to secure the Gho Mathas, Ajas, and Varahams to us in a fair way at the auction without any nasty scenes like we witnessed last time.

Our Periyava has been appraised about the happenings and has blessed us in this initiative. As HH says there are two things we should do, பிரார்த்தனை & பிரயத்தனம் (Prayers and efforts). Let us all collectively pray to Sri Periyava to rescue these innocent jeevans sucessfully without any issues on Tuesday.
