Thanks to Sri AR Subramanian for FB share.
Kanchi Mahaperiyava has visited this temple and Sri Balaperiyava visited this temple last year or so.
Aum Shri Matrey Namaha!

Recently, I learned that Kamakshi Mariamman is our grama devathai and that the worship had stopped 3 generations ago when my great grand father moved out of Tiruvarur. Would you mind sharing your native village/town?
There is a Kamakshi Amman temple there I think.
She is my maternal side ppl Kula Deivam too !! But unfortunately I have not that bhagyam to visit here. She is very powerful my mother used to say often.
Thanks Mahesh for sharing Her picture here !!

She is our kula devatha and in fact when the former priest told Periyavaa that 95% of the devotees who visit this temple are vaishnavas, He had even recommended some additions to the sankalpa mantra (which unfortunately am not able to recollect)
Very true. We are Vaishnavas but we start nothing without praying to Kamakahi ambal first
Do you know people from which villages/towns have Ambal as Grama Devathai. My paternal ancestors are from Tiruvarur?
