Last month when I was trying to clean up some books at my parents’ place, I ran into this book – I vaguely remember this was given to me by Sri Vaitha mama. This book gives a detailed write-up about mama’s life.
Many of the pictures you see here are old photos but there are few photos I have not seen before – particularly Sri Sivan SAR photo.
From what I heard mama was considered as one of the very few who took liberty with Periyava and talks boldly etc. I am sure folks who know mama can add more.

Ive already seen the photo of Periyava giving prasadam to an old lady. Just look at Periyava’s face!! Today only it was revealed that it is KP Sundarambal Amma🙏🙏🙏 Periyava munnadi ‘Pazham nee appa gnana pazham nee appa’ padiyiruppangalo??? How divine it would have been???
Very nice ! Sri Sankara Bhaktha Jana Sabha Trust has published two volumes of MahaPeriyava pictures called “Divya Darshan”. They are beautiful. Many of the above are from these volumes. Mama was in charge of the Chennai office of the Trust at Abhiramapuram – his residence.
I used to meet mama in Chennai at his residence. There were several wonderful pictures of Mahaperiyava at his home all around the four walls !
He told me once that at the time of Mahaperiyava’s Mahasamadhi , His feet were placed in Mama’s lap !

Vaitha Mama was working in Simpson company, hence the prefix of Simpson Vaitha Mama.
