Nityagnihotri Brahmasri Nannilam Rajagopala Ganapadigal has reached sivaloka

Source: Sriram Raju, FB

With Profound Grief and with utter disbelief it is shared that Nannilam Brahmasri Nithyagnihotri Rajagopala Ghanapatigal attained the lotus Feet of Mahaperiyavaa on 24th December around 10.00 PM.

He suffered a Massive Heart Attack and collapsed at his residence itself when he was about to board the Ambulance.

His contribution to sanatana dharma is very valuable. He has been running “Vaithikasri” magazine for a very long time to educate all of us on so many topics. He has given so many lectures on so many topics – most of them are on YouTube.

Our sincere condolences to his family members and our namaskaram to this great soul.

  2. Just a month back, I started hearing his lectures on soundarya Lahari and I was awestruck by the way he explained every word of each verse He was able to convey the inner meaning of each verse with clarity and precision.
I wanted to meet him in person and pay my obeisance to him.
When I opened his site on Internet, I get the news that he is no more.
    It is all God’s Will.
There can be no doubt he would have attained moksha.
His legacy in the form of his teachings are there for all of us to follow. That will be the respect we would be showing to him.

  3. I’m totally shocked and saddened by this news. Still can’t believe it. I feel as if I lost my father suddenly. He is not that old, left this world too early. This loss is huge to entire Hindu community.

  4. Who else will ever give the annual Panchaanga Padanam like him on Tamil New Years Day? What voice, what authority, what recall, what depth of knowledge!

We will all miss him so dearly. What a fantastic contribution to our way of life, in such a short time and in such a masterly fashion.

  5. Really a great loss for the sanatana darma pracharam in this 21st century

  6. Many people acquire wide and varied knowledge during their lives. But, putting that knowledge into practice unfailingly and sharing that knowledge for the benefit of mankind without selfish goals is reserved by the Almighty only for the chosen few. Undoubtedly, Rajagopala Ghanapadigal belonged to that class. His departure leaves a great void for all those inclined towards dharmanushtanams and dharmic knowledge. I have always listened with awe and reverence, the depth of his knowledge and the simple rendering of even complex topics.
May Paramacharya give the bereaved family, the strength to bear this great loss

  7. We have lost a Great scholar of our Vedic dharma. His soul rest in piece

It is a great loss to brahmin community He has been educating us on various aspects of dharma Sastras and dispelled all our doubts
His contribution to the propagation of Veda traditionally. Through Veda pada Sala is laudable
It is indeed an immense loss to our community
My condolences to his family members

  9. Shocked to hear the sad news of Mama’s demise. I am sure Mama would have shelter under the holy feet of Eshwara.
Many people like me were able to learn the SAMSKRUTHAM language through his grace only. Sanskrit Education Society with its headquarters in Mandaiveli, Saint Mary’s Road, R A Puram, Chennai 600028 started by him has produced thousands of SAMSKRUTHAM Scholars and the credit for the same goes to Mama only.

  10. I am so shocked!! I have listened to so many upanyasams of Mama on YouTube. My condolenses to the family.

  11. Extremely sad to note the demise. Condolences to the family.

  12. A noble soul which has joined the lotus feet of Sri Sri Sri Maha Periava.

Om Shanthi. Om Shanthi. Om Shanthi. Jaya Jaya Sankara. Hara Hara Sankara.

  13. I always had a great admiration for mama the way he took care of the vedapadasala children. He is fond of children and had devoted his life for Santana Dharma. We cannot become mama but I request all sisters brothers fathers n mothers to stand n be a pillar of strength to the bereaved family by helping them in whatever way you all can. Words are poor comforters the heart knows it’s own sorrow. In such sorrows they are all alone. I only feel this is the least thing we can do for a noble human being who had left his wife n children alone. Sometimes GOD IS CRUEL. His will he has taken mama with him. We cannot question THE SUPREME. STARK REALITY OF LIFE. MAMAS MISSION SHOULDNOT STOP AND YOU ALL MUST SUPPORT THE BEREAVED FAMILY. WITH TEARS SUJATHA JAYARAMAN.

    • Dear Sujatha Garu

While I understand your sorrow for Brahmasri Nithyagnihotri Rajagopala Ghanapatigal on his sudden demise as we all do, why blame God here? Does God love to show His cruelty on his own children deliberately? Nay!

One’s up and downs in life, where to born, whom to born, knowledge, life span, etc., are decided by one’s one ‘Karma’. It is not His will, but one’s own indulgence in each birth that becomes the reason of next birth. Blaming God for such things is also Dosha. Pl. don’t do it.

At this time, we only have to see what best can be done to his family and his unfinished tasks.

Hope you take my points positively!

Jaya Jaya Shankara…. Hara Hara Shankara….

    • It’s a devastating news. Mama was my manasika guru. We were fortunate to be associated with mama for just 6 months. We blessed since mama visited our house along with his noble son Sri Krishna Ganapatigal. It is such a great loss and cannot be expressed. ONLY THE PAIN CAN BE FELT AND NOTHING ELSE. FEEL LOST AND CANNOT THINK OF ANYTHING just praying to give strength to Annapoorani Mami and all family members. What a loss what a loss… It is a weird situation that we cannot hear voice of mama and videos of mama. Mama was an epitome of dharma and I HAVE NOT SEEN ANYBODY OTHER THAN MAMA WHO WAS NOT ONLY A GREAT SOUL WHO FOLLOWED RITUALS AND RELIGIOUS ACTIVITIES, BUT ALSO IMPARTING DIFFICULT ACTIVITIES SUCH AS PUBLICATIONS, SADAS, LECTURING, WORKSHOPS, VEDA PATASHALAS AND MANY MORE TASKS TOWARDS DHARMA…. MAMA YOU ARE WITH GOD BUT WE ARE LEFT WITH NO GURU WHO HAS GREAT COMMAND OVER VEDA AND SHASTRAS. I CANNOT STOP CRYING AND JUST FEW DAYS BACK WE RECEIVED A LETTER AND MAHAPERIAYAVA PHOTO FROM MAMA. IN THIS JANMA, ONE THING GOD DID GOOD TO ME AND MY HUSBAND WAS GETTING ASSOCIATED WITH MAMA AND MAMA’S FAMILY. I AM INDEBTED TO THEIR FAMILY….
As everybody has expressed we should extend our help in some or the other way to mama’s family…. Mama we miss you terribly. Cannot express this grief.

  14. Unbelievable! A great loss that can’t be compensated.Unable to get over this.
He would have reached abode of MahaPeriava.

  15. feeling very sad to hear this news ? i had the chance of directly meeting in person in his residence and got the 2 English books on worship of ancestors (Pithru Pujanam)volume-1,2 very useful for all Hindu religion may his soul reach mahaperiva hope his sons will take over his post and continue there spiritual journey

    Regard

  16. When I received the message through Sri Periyava Kural forum, I was in a Divya Prabandam concert and I was truly stunned and shocked. I am yet to get over the shock. Feel as if I have lost a family member. I am subscriber for Vaithika Sri since 2014 and this excellent magazine is not only a great guide for doing Shannavati tharpanam but also various auspicious occasions.
I have been keenly reading his Editorials in the magazine where it would look as if he is directly talking to us.
His early demise is a very, very great loss to our Sanatana Dharma.
I am sure with Sri Bagawan’s grace, his soul will attain satgati.
Let, all of us, the astikas stand by his family and pray that they are given the strength to bear this loss.
    Adiyean

The fate prevents help at the rt time
Vedic schollars vidya dharmena so bate.
    Yes .

  34. I am one among many of you who saw him as my manaseega Guru. He had that Charisma (Tejas). In fact I was telling my father that we should have him as our vadhyar for my father’s Sathabhishekam some time early next year (God Willing). Very down to hear but held Sasthras and Samprathyas very high. I am not sure about his family size (though I know he was really grooming many disciples in the gurukulam concept). Wanted to offer some Guru Kannikai, do we know if any crowd funding or remittance to bank account could be done …the least one could do for a great soul? Please advise. Jaya Jaya Shankara Hara Hara Shankara

    • *sorry for the typo …down to earth

    • You may kindly call Vaithikasri office and they will guide you. You can pay cheque in the name of Sree Seetha Rama Gurukulam , it is mama’s Gurukulam taken care just like a baby… By mama and their family. As you rightly said, mama has several disciples who are extremely good in all vaideeka activities. Mama’s son Sr Krishna Ganapatigal is an excellent vaideeka person who himself is following his father’s footsteps in all manners. You may still contact mama’s son , who is again a Veda vidwan….. Ram Ram

  35. Deeply saddened to hear about the demise of Rajagopala Ganapadigal Mama. Irreparable loss to Sanathana Dharma and our Vedic community.

  36. Swamy explains all vaidheha karma in simple words for our understanding. It is very rare to get such things in the present days. We have lost a Great scholar of our Vedic dharma.

  37. நம் பிராமண சமுதாயத்திற்கு மாபெரும் இழப்பு ஆகும். ஆன்மா இறைவன் நிழலில் இளைப்பாற பிராத்திக்கிறேன்.

  39. It is shocking to hear the sudden departure of Bramhashri Ganapadigal to reach the lotus feet of the Lord on the very next day to Maha Periyava;s aradhanai. His religious work will even remain in green memory. He was instrunmental in making many grahauthals to attain their Dharma. It is an irreperable loss. May the Lord give all the members of his family to bear the Loss. periyavacharanam

  40. This is stunningly saddening news. Such premature and sudden loss is difficult to reconcile to.There are probably many learned persons, but few are endowed with such felicity of language and facility of expression to carry the message of dharma convincingly. While the truths of our dharma are eternal, they require to be reinterpreted and re-presented to every generation in the current idiom. This is where Sri Rajagopala Ganapatigal excelled. He made people listen. His writings in “Vaidhikasri” carried clarity and conviction, while his editorials commenting on current developments helped us to understand and appreciate them in the light of our tradition. In this he performed a task in recent years that had been done by Srivatsa Somadeva Sarma half a century ago, to d different generation.. However considering the general deterioration and growing hostility,Sri Ganapatigal’s was perhaps the tougher task. His untimely demise is a great loss and leaves a big void difficult to fill. This is too sad for words and will be felt for a long time. .

    • It is a very sad day for Brahmana community in Tamil. We pray to God to give shanti to the departed Aatma and strength to the bereaved family to bear this insurmountable personal loss.

  41. An authority on Sastras. A great soul. An immense loss. Prof. M.Ramachandran, *B.E,Ph.D (IISc),IES,FIE,Chart.Engr.*

  42. Struggling to accept this. Ganapaadigal rendered yeoman service in helping ordinary people like us understand our saastras. What an unimaginable loss!

  43. Deep Regret “May His Soul Rest in Peace”
    Maha Periyavaa Saranam

    • Please don’t say ‘RIP’ kind of messages. Sanatana Dharma doesn’t recommend such kind. We only reach the lotus feet of God, not rest in peace. Hope you get my point in positive way!.

      • Balaji – Very true. Ram! Ram!. I am absolutely stunned after knowing the demise of the Gandapadigal.
