On this most auspicious Guru Poornima day, I am very glad to post the anugrahabashanam of Sri Periyava for the 10th anniversary for the blog.

When I went to TVK to get Darshan of Sri Periyava, on the first day, I told Him about 10th year anniversary and requested an anugrahabashanam exclusively for the readers as we are doing lot of kainkaryams etc. On the second day morning I saw Him in the early morning and requested again. He said “tharen”. Then He kept giving Darshan for devotees – it was getting late for His puja. Suddenly He got up with His dhandam and I thought that Darshan is over and He is getting ready for puja. I went again and reminded Him again that my flight is in the afternoon to Chennai. He raised His hands and said “Tharen”. I was standing with other devotees in the large hall with no idea of what to do next.

After 2-3 minutes someone came running and asked me to come as Periyava was calling me. I ran! Periyava was sitting in the backside of the Matam alone with one person. Very serene environment – no noise at all. He asked to record the environment first – I did. Then a peacock started to make some sound – He asked me to record that too – I did. 

He asked me about the blog etc. He closed His eyes and started to talk – rest is what you see here!

We all are so blessed to receive this directly from our acharyas. As He mentioned in this, this is a much required platform that connects people to do larger things for our sanatana dharma together. 

The topic of “Vidhya dhanam” that He talked about is going to be our focus for the future. There are some anukka thondars for Periyava spent lot of time with me to explain why this project is very important and Periyava’s single focus on this area. Haviing said that, we will continue to do our support veda/gho rakshanams and temple punaruddharanams etc. I will write a detailed post on this soon as it requires focused attention from you and support this program as this to me the most important action for all of us to do.

I request all of you to listen to this speech and follow as per His directions.

I personally consider His anugrahabashanam as a recognition of all our good work by our Acharya and we all should feel proud and blessed about this.

Small note about my views on this blog

In 2019, the blog steps into the 10th year mark. Time flies! Looking back, it is quite astonishing to see the journey we have been through. Started in 2009, with a very humble beginning with the only intent of having all information about Mahaperiyava in one site, this blog has transformed into the largest platform for Sri Kanchi Matam connecting several thousands of devotees around the world.

For most of us, this is the first page to visit when we wake up – a total encyclopedia for Mahaperiyava related messages, articles, photos, videos – you name it. Today we have about 5000 email followers, 2500 FB followers, 1500 Twitter followers. Growth is beyond any human comprehension – all made possible by the blessings of Kanchi Acharyas.

This blog means different to different people. Some people come here when they are morally down – read few articles, look at some photos and get re-energized. For some this is a place for venduthals. I know a devotee (I will not name her) – she writes everyday as a comment about her problems to Periyava – it is a direct communication. So far, she has written about 150+ comments just on one single post. That is why I call this blog as a virtual Mahaperiyava Temple – in lot of ways, it is. I am sure you all agree.

How did this all happen? It is nothing but Mahaperiyava’s grace. All what we (you, me, everyone here) do here is completely selfless work. No commercial motives or not to get fame etc. There are several attempts by others to bring this blog down and Mahaperiyava took care of all that. Even today, we are walking straight on our lines with no distractions. When our focus is on our acharyas, rest will fall in its place. 

This blog had seen many great contributors/editors – Suresh Panchanathan, Hari Ramasubbu, Sai etc – great folks – enjoy(ed) working with them. I request all to share the contents to be shared to me as always.  We encourage new poets, new artists to share their work…

We will continue our work in the selfless way as how we have done so far. Let us keep our focus to Periyava and our duties (nithyakarmas, learning Vedas, doing anushtanams etc). Let us not involve ourselves in any activities that are not in compliance with Sri Matam. To us, Sri Matam is the most important thing as this great institution has been established by Parameswaran Himself (Sri Adi Shankara) to nurture sanatana dharma and maintain our cultural values and our religious goals. 

We will stay humble and pray Mahaperiyava to bless us with the unshaken bakthi even during tough times.
