கோமாதா, பூமாதா, ஜனக மாதா மாதிரியே ஸ்ரீமாதா என்று ஒரு மாதா. மற்ற மூன்று மாதாக்களுக்கும், அவர்கள் மாத்திரமல்லாமல் லோகத்திலுள்ள ஸகல மாதாக்களுக்கும், மாதா-பிதா-பத்னி-குழந்தை முதலிய ஸகல உயிரினங்களுக்கும், உயிரில்லாத அசேதனங்கள் அத்தனைக்குங் கூட மூலகாரணமாயிருக்கிற தாயான பராசக்தியே ஸ்ரீமாதா. அவளிடமிருந்து சுரக்கிற அருட்பாலால்தான் நம்முடைய ஜனகமாதாவுக்கும், கோமாதாவுக்கும் பால் சுரப்பது; அந்த அருட்பாலால்தான் பூமாதா தான்ய வளமும் நீர்வளமும் சுரப்பதும்.
அந்த ஸ்ரீமாதாவுக்கே கோமாதா என்பதையும் ஒரு பெயராக லலிதா ஸஹஸ்ரநாமத்தில் சொல்லியிருக்கிறது. ஸஹஸ்ரநாமத்தில் முதல் நாமாவே ‘ஸ்ரீமாதா’ என்பது. உள்ளே அந்த நாமாவளியில் ‘குருமூர்த்தி:, குணநிதி:, கோமாதா’ என்று வருகிறது. ஞானப் பாலூட்டும் ‘குரு மூர்த்தி’யாகவும் ஸகல கல்யாண குணமாக இருந்து கொண்டு அருட்பாலூட்டும் ‘குணநிதி’யாகவும் அம்பாளுக்குப் பெயர்கள் சொன்ன கையோடு ‘கோமாதா’ என்று சொல்லியிருப்பது விசேஷம். – ஜகத்குரு ஸ்ரீ சந்திரசேகரேந்திர சரஸ்வதி ஸ்வாமிகள்
There is another Matha named Sri Matha just like Gho Matha, Bhoo Matha and Janaka Matha. It is Devi Parashakthi who is the Sri Matha — She, who is the basic life-source for the other three Mathas and not just for them alone but also for the innumerable mothers all over the universe, for all beings like mothers, fathers, wives and children, including all the inanimate beings on earth. It is the milk of Grace secreted from Her that enables our Janaka Matha and Gho Matha to secrete milk; it is from that milk of Grace that the Bhoo Matha gives forth wealth of Grains and water resources. This Sri Matha Herself has been attributed the name of Gho Matha as one of Her many names in Lalitha Sahasranama. The very first name in the Sahasranama is “Sri Matha”. Inside the text in the Namavali, it goes on to recite as ‘Gurumurthi;’ ‘Gunanithi;’ and ‘Gho Matha’. It is really significant that She is being called as Gho Matha in the same stretch after celebrating Her as ‘Gurumurthi’ who feeds us with the milk of Knowledge and as ‘Gunanithi’, who feeds us with the milk of Grace by being the embodiment of all good characters (Kalyana Gunas). – Jagadguru Chandrasekharendra Saraswathy Swamigal
