நம் பரமாத்மா ஸ்ரீ கிருஷ்ண பரமாத்மாவே!
பிரம்மஞானி என்பதற்கு உதாரண புருஷராய் ஸ்ரீ சுகப்பிரம்மரிஷி அவர்களை அவருடைய மேன்மையின் காரணமாக எப்படி உயர்த்திச் சொல்கிறோமோ, அத்தனை மேன்மையும் சிறப்புமாக சாக்ஷாத் பரமேஸ்வரரே நம்மை உய்வித்தருளும் பெரும் கருணையின் வெளிப்பாடாக ஸ்ரீஸ்ரீஸ்ரீ மஹா பெரியவாள் எனும் எளிய திருஉருவோடு நம்மில் ஒருவராய் அருளியது நாம் எண்ணி எண்ணி சிலாகிக்கும் மகா பெரிய பாக்யமாகும். அவரை ஸ்ரீ ராமசந்திர மூர்த்தியாய், காமாட்சி அம்பாளாய், வைத்தீஸ்வர மூர்த்தியாய், பண்டரிபுர நாரயணனாய் என்று அவரவர் பாக்யத்திற்கேற்ப பக்தர்கள் பலவடிவில் அனுபவித்துள்ளனர். அப்படிப்பட்ட பக்தர்களில் குசேலனாக இருந்த ஒரு பாகவத பக்தருக்கு ஸ்ரீகிருஷ்ண பரமாத்மாவாக நம் பரமேஸ்வர பெரியவா அருளி ஆட்கொண்ட சம்பவமிது.
அவரோ உபன்யாசம் செய்து கிடைக்கும் சொற்ப சம்பாவனையில் சம்சார ஜீவனம் நடத்திக் கொண்டிருப்பவர். அவர் மனைவிக்கு இவருடைய தரித்திர ஜாதகத்தால் இவர்மேல் உண்டான வெறுப்போ என்னவோ இவரிடம் ஒரு உதாசீனம் மிகுந்து காணப்பட்டது. கொஞ்சம் கடுமையாகவே புருஷருக்குக் கட்டளையிடுபவள்.
இந்த நிலையில் பெண்ணுக்குக் கல்யாணம் நிச்சயமாகிவிட்டது. கையில் கால் முழ பூ வாங்கக் கூட காசில்லை என்ற விதத்தில் பற்றாக்குறை சுமார் பதினைந்தாயிரம் அந்தக் காலகட்டத்தில் மிக மிக எளிமையாக கல்யாணம் செய்து ஒப்பேற்ற அவசியம் தேவையாக இருந்தது. எங்கே போவது யாரிடம் கேட்பது என்று பாகவதர் பரிதவிக்க,
“அது என்ன பண்ணுவீங்களோ தெரியாது………யார் கிட்டே போய் கேட்பீங்களோ எப்படியாவது 15000 ரூபாயை புரட்டியாகணும்” மிகவும் கண்டிஷனாக தன் புருஷனை முடுக்கிவிட வேண்டிய நிர்பந்தம் அந்தத் தாயின் கடமையாகிப் போனது.
பாகவதர் எத்தனையோ சீதாகல்யாணம், ருக்மணி கல்யாணம் என்று உபன்யாசம் செய்துள்ளார். ஆனால் தன் பெண் கல்யாணத்திற்கான செலவிற்கு உபாயம் தெரியாமல் கலங்கிக் கொண்டிருந்தார். அப்போதெல்லாம், அந்த சாக்ஷாத் உமாபதியான சங்கரர் நம்மிடையே நடமாடி அருளிக் கொண்டிருந்த சுபீட்சமான காலகட்டம். பாகவதர் போன்ற பரம ஏழைகளின் வீட்டு எல்லா கல்யாணங்களையும் அந்த எல்லையில்லா பெருங்கருணைத் தெய்வமே நடத்தி அருளிய காலம்.
கலங்கிய பாகவதருக்கு ஒரே ஒரு மார்க்கம் தான் சாத்யமாகியது சரணடைய வேண்டும்……..ஸ்ரீ சங்கர ரூபரான ஸ்ரீ மஹா பெரியவாளை சரணடைந்து யாசிப்பதை விட வேறு வழி எதுவுமில்லை. ஸ்ரீ பெரியவா எப்படியும் காப்பாத்துவா என்ற திடமனதுடன் புறப்பட்டார்.
ஸ்ரீ கருணாமூர்த்தியான பெரியவாளின் முன் தரிசனத்துக்கு மனதளவில் பெரும் சங்கடம்…ஸ்ரீ பெரியவாளிடம் தன் தேவையை எப்படி எடுத்துரைப்பது……..அதை மகான் எப்படி ஏற்பார்……..தான் வேண்டி வந்திருக்கும் ரூ.15000 மும் கிட்டுமா………, இப்படி மனதில் ஏகப்பட்ட குழப்பத்தால் ஸ்ரீ பெரியவாளின் சன்னதியில் வாயைத் திறந்து பேசக்கூட வார்த்தை வராதவராய் நிற்கிறார்.
‘வார்த்தையாகப் பேசி நம் குறையைத் தெரிவித்தால்தான் ஸ்ரீ பெரியவாளுக்குத் தெரியுமா என்ன?…… ஒரு பக்தன் வந்து நின்றதும் அவனுடைய ஜன்மாஜன்மங்களின் விவரங்கள் எல்லாமுமே அந்த ஈஸ்வரருக்கு தெரிந்துவிடாதோ’ என்று பாகவதரின் மனதுள் ஒரு உறுதியான எண்ணம் தெம்பூட்டிக் கொண்டிருக்க அவர் இன்னும் வாய் திறக்காத நிலை.
ஆனால் ஸ்ரீ பெரியவாளின் திருவாய் அதற்குமுன்னே மலர்ந்துவிட்டது.
“நீ எனக்கு ஒரு ஒத்தாசை பண்றயா?” என்று நேர்மாறாக இவரிடம் ஸ்ரீ பெரியவா ஏதோ யாசிக்கப்போகும் பாவத்தோடு ஆரம்பித்தார்.
“பெரியவா சொல்லுங்கோ கட்டுப்படறேன்”. பாகவதருக்கு தர்மசங்கடமாகிப்போனது. தான் எதையோ கேட்க வந்தால், இப்போது ஸ்ரீ பெரியவா எதைக் கேட்கப் போகிறாரோ என்று அவரது கவலை திசைதிரும்பியிருந்தது.
“திருநெல்வேலி பக்கத்திலே அம்பாசமுத்திரம் இருக்கு. அங்கே ஒரு கிராமத்திலேயிருந்து வந்து எங்கிட்டே சொல்லிட்டுப் போயிட்டா. ஊர்லே மழையே இல்லாம பயிரெல்லாம் வாடிப் போச்சாம்….. குடிக்கக்கூடத் தண்ணியில்லாம ஜனங்க அவஸ்தைப் படறாளாம்………ஆடு, மாடெல்லாம் ஜலமில்லாம செத்துப் போறதா சொன்னா…….அதுக்கு அந்த ஊர் பெருமாள் கோயில்லே பாகவதம் சொன்னா மழைவரும்னு அவாளோட நம்பிக்கை…….அப்படி பாகவதம் சொல்ல ஏற்பாடு பண்ணனும்னு பொறுப்பை என் தலைமேல போட்டுட்டா……எனக்கு ஒத்தாசை நீ பண்ணனும். உடனே அந்த ஊருக்குப்போய் பாகவதம் உபன்யாசம் செஞ்சுட்டு வரணும். அங்கே உனக்கு எல்லா வசதியும் செஞ்சு தருவா……என்ன செய்வியா”
பாகவத பக்தருக்கு மறுப்போதும் சொல்லமுடியவில்லை. ஸ்ரீ பெரியவாளின் ஆக்ஞையை நிறைவேற்றுவதை பாக்யமாகக் கருதி அவர் புறப்பட்டுவிட்டார்.
அங்கே அந்த திருநெல்வேலி கிராமத்தில் இவர் போய்ச் சேர்ந்தபோது பெருமாள்கோயில் பட்டாசாரியார் இவரை வரவேற்று தங்க இடமளித்து ஆகாரங்களுக்கும் வழி செய்தார்.
பாகவத உபன்யாசம் ஸ்ரீஸ்ரீஸ்ரீ மஹா பெரியவா ஏற்பாடு செய்து நடப்பதில் ஊரே ஆனந்தப்பட்டு கோவிலில் குவிந்து பாகவதரின் பிரசங்கத்தை அனுபவிக்கும் என்று பாகவதர் எதிர்பார்த்தது நியாயமே. ஆனால் நிலைமை முற்றிலும் மாறாக இருந்தது.
கோவில் நிர்வாகக் கமிட்டி கடும் போட்டி பகை காரணமாக இரண்டுபட்டு இருந்தது. ஊரின் பெரிய தலைகள் இருவருக்குமிடையே ஏற்பட்ட உரசலால் கோயிலுக்கு நீ உரிமையா நான் உரிமையா என்ற சண்டையில் கோயிலுக்கே பொது ஜனங்கள் பயந்து வராமல் தவிர்த்தனர். அதனால் பாகவதர் பிரசங்கம் ஆரம்பித்து நடத்திய போது அங்கே அதைக் கேட்க அந்த பட்டாசாரியாரும், கோவில் காவலாளியும் மட்டும் இருந்தனர். இருப்பினும் பாகவதர் ஸ்ரீ பெரியவாளெனும் தெய்வத்தின் கட்டளையை எதையும் பொருட்படுத்தாமல் செய்யலானார்.
பாகவத உபன்யாசம் முற்றுப் பெற்றது. கோயில் பட்டாசாரியாருக்கு மிகவும் வருத்தம். ஸ்ரீ பெரியவா வாக்கிற்காக ஊரை நம்பி வந்து பிரவசனம் செய்தவருக்கு கணிசமான சம்பாவனையை அளிக்க இயலாமல் ஊர் இரண்டு பட்டுள்ளதே என்று நொந்து கொண்டார்.
“ஊர் சார்பா ரொம்பவும் மன்னிப்பு கேட்டுக்கறேன். உங்களுக்கு நியாயமா சேர்க்க வேண்டிய சம்பாவனையைத் தரமுடியலே. என்னாலான சொற்பம் இதைத் தரேன்” என்று தட்டில் தேங்காய், பழம், வெற்றிலையோடு சிலரூபாய் நோட்டுக்களை வைத்துக் கொடுத்தார்.
பாகவதர் பெற்றுக் கொண்ட அந்தத் தொகை வெறும் முப்பதே ரூபாய். தினமும் பிரசங்கத்தை அனுபவித்து கேட்டுக் கொண்டிருந்த கோயில் காவலாளிக்கு மனம் உறுத்தியதோ என்னவோ,
“சாமி! இதையும் வைச்சுக்கங்க” என்றபடி 2 1/2 ரூபாயை அவன் சார்பாக அளித்தான்.
15000 ரூபாய்க்காக பரமேஸ்வரரிடம் வந்தவருக்கு 32 1/2 ரூபாய் பெற்றுக் கொள்ளும் சங்கட நிலை. எல்லாம் ஈசன் செயல் என்று பாகவத மனப்பக்குவம் கூறினாலும் தன் மனைவிக்கு என்ன பதில் சொல்வது என்ற பெரிய கேள்வி அவர் முன் நின்றது.
ஸ்ரீ பெரியவாளிடம் தான் மறுபடியும் போகிறோமே அவா கருணை இப்படியேவா விட்டு விடப்போகிறது என்ற லேசான நம்பிக்கைத் துளிகளோடு மகான் முன் போய் நின்றார்.
“வா! உபன்யாசம் நன்னா நடந்ததா? ரொம்ப கூட்டமா கேட்க வந்தாளா?” எடுத்த எடுப்பில் ஸ்ரீ பெரியவாளின் விளையாட்டு ஆரம்பித்தது.
பாகவதர் மிகவும் தயங்கி ஊர் நிலைமையை விளக்கி “பாகவதம் கேட்க ரெண்டு பேர்தான் இருந்தா” என்றார் சோகமாக.
ஸ்ரீ பெரியவா இவரை சிறிது நேரம் உற்று நோக்கினார்.
“நீ ரொம்ப கொடுத்து வைச்சவன்” என்றார் சம்பந்தமில்லாமல், பாகவதர் புரியாமல் முழித்தார்.
“ஸ்ரீ கிருஷ்ணபரமாத்மா பகவத்கீதை உபன்யாசம் செஞ்ச போது அதை அர்ச்சுனன் மட்டும் தானே கேட்டான்……..ஆனா உன் உபன்யாசத்தை கேட்க ரெண்டு பேர் இருந்திருக்காளே……..” என்று புன்சிரிப்போடு ஆசிர்வதித்து,
“எத்தனை சம்பாவனை பண்ணினா? என்றார் குறும்பாக
பாகவதர் நிதானமாக முப்பத்திரெண்டரை ரூபாய் என்றார்.
உடனே ஸ்ரீ பெரியவா ஸ்ரீ மடத்து மேனேஜரை அழைத்து பாகவதருக்கு மடம் சார்பாக சம்பாவனை செய்யச் சொன்னார். அப்போது கூட உபன்யாசகர் தன் பெண் கல்யாணத்திற்காக ஸ்ரீ பெரியவாளிடம் அனுக்ரஹம் வாங்கி கல்யாண செலவிற்காக பணம் கேட்க வந்ததை நிறைவேற்றிக் கொள்ள இயலாமல் போனது.
ஸ்ரீ மடத்து சம்பாவனையாக ரூபாய் ஆயிரம் கொடுக்கப்பட்டிருந்தது. ஸ்ரீபெரியவாளிடம் உத்தரவு வாங்கிக் கொண்டு பாகவதர் படபடப்போடு தன் வீடுநோக்கி நகர்ந்தார். வீட்டில் மனைவியை எதிர்கொள்ள வேண்டும், அவள் கேள்விக்கு என்ன பதில் சொல்வது?
இந்த பயம் எதுவுமே அவசியமில்லாமல் ஆனது போல அங்கே பாகவதரை இன்முகத்துடன் மனைவி வரவேற்கக் காத்திருந்த அதிசயம் நடந்தது.
வீட்டின் வாசலில் வரவேற்று, கால் அலம்ப ஜலம் கொடுத்து, ஆரத்தி எடுத்து அழைத்துச் சென்ற மனைவியின் செய்கைகளை அதிசயமாக நோக்கினார் உபன்யாசகர்! உள்ளே சுவாமி அறைக்குக் கூட்டிச் சென்று அங்கே பெரிய கட்டு புஷ்பம், வெற்றிலை, பாக்கு, தேங்காய் சகிதம் பணக்கட்டு வைக்கப்பட்டிருந்த்தை மனைவி சந்தோஷமாகக் காட்டினாள்.
“இப்பதான் மடத்திலேர்ந்து பெரியவா அனுப்பினான்னு கொண்டு வந்து வைச்சுட்டு போனா…..நீங்க கேட்டதும் ஸ்ரீபெரியவா அனுக்ரஹம் பண்ணிட்டா……பணக்கட்டை நீங்கள் வந்ததும்தான் தொடணும்னு வைச்சிருக்கேன்” என்ற மனைவியின் முகத்தில் ஆனந்தம் நடமாடியது.
பாகவதர் ஒன்றும் புரியாமல் நின்றார். மனைவி ஆவலோடு அந்தப் பணக்கட்டை எண்ணிப் பார்க்க அதில் கூடவோ குறையவோ இல்லாத இவர் கேட்கப் போய் கேட்காத பணம்….. சரியாக ரூபாய் 15,000 அன்று குசேலருக்கு கிட்டியதுபோல் ஸ்ரீ பெரியவா ஸ்ரீ கிருஷ்ணபரமாத்மாகவே பாகவதருக்கு அருளியுள்ளார்.
பாகவதரின் கண்கள் குளமாயின. மகாப்பிரபுவின் கருணைக்கோர் எல்லை இல்லை என்பதை அவர் பூர்ணமாக உணர்ந்து உருகினார்.
பத்தும் ரெண்டும் பன்னிரெண்டாச்சா?
பிரம்மஸ்ரீ பிரதோஷம் மாமாவிடம் பக்தி கொண்டவரும் ஸ்ரீமஹாபெரியவா திருக்கோயிலிலும் ஸ்ரீமடத்திலும் கைங்கர்யம் செய்யும் பக்தர் ஒருவர் நேரில் ஸ்ரீ பெரியவா தரிசனத்தில் பெற்ற அனுபவம் இது!
ஸ்ரீ பெரியவா ஒருநாள் காலை ஸ்ரீமடத்தின் நிதி நிலைமையைப் பற்றி வருத்தத்துடன் சொல்லிக் கொண்டிருக்கிறார். “மடத்திலே வரவு கம்மியா இருக்கு செலவு ஜாஸ்தியா இருக்கு”.
அங்கே அப்போது பக்தர்கள் காணிக்கையாக ஒரு தட்டில் கொண்டு வைத்து விட்டுப்போன தொகை காணப்பட்டது.
“இதிலே எத்தனை வசூலாயிருக்கு பாரு” என்றார்.
இவர்கள் எண்ணிப் பார்த்துவிட்டு “இரண்டாயிரம்” என்றனர்”
“என்ன பன்னிரண்டாயிரமா?” என்கிறார் ஸ்ரீ பெரியவா
“இல்லே ரெண்டாயிரம்” சந்தேகத்திற்கு மறுபடியும் எண்ணி பார்த்தவர்களுக்கு தட்டில் இரண்டாயிரம்தான் இருந்தது.
ஆனால் ஸ்ரீ பெரியவாள், திரும்பவும் “பன்னிரெண்டாயிரமா” என்று இரண்டு மூன்று முறையாக கேட்டுவிட்டு விட்டுவிடுகிறார்.
சற்று நேரத்தில் பல் டாகடர் சுப்ரமணியன் என்பவர் ஸ்ரீ பெரியவா தரிசனத்துக்கு வருகிறார். பூர்வாஸ்ரமத்தில் ஸ்ரீ பாலுவிடம் டாக்டர் ஒரு தட்டைக் கேட்டு வாங்கி அதில் ஸ்ரீ பெரியவாளுக்கு சமர்ப்பிக்க தேங்காய், வெற்றிலை, பாக்கு, பழத்துடன் ஒரு கட்டு ரூபாய் நோட்டுக்களை வைக்கிறார். அந்தத் தொகையில் வரும் வட்டியில் மடத்தில் குறிப்பிட்ட பூஜைக்காக வகைசெய்ய அந்தத் தொகையை வைத்துள்ளதாகக் கூறுகிறார்.
ஸ்ரீ பாலுவிடம் ஸ்ரீ பெரியவா அதில் எத்தனை ரூபாய் இருக்கிறதென்று பார்க்கச் சொல்கிறார். அப்படி பார்க்க அதில் சரியாக பத்தாயிரம் இருந்தது.
“அப்போ பத்தும் ரெண்டும் பன்னிரெண்டாயிடுத்து இல்லே” என்று ஸ்ரீபெரியவா பாலுவிடம் ஒரு புன்சிரிப்போடு கேட்க, அங்கு நின்றிருந்த பக்தர்கள் அனைவருக்கும் ஸ்ரீ பெரியவா சர்வக்ஞன் என்பது உறுதியாகிறது. யாரோ ஒரு பக்தர் வைத்த 2,000 ரூபாயை பன்னிரெண்டாயிரமா’ என்று திரும்ப திரும்பக் கேட்டு வியக்க வைத்த ஸ்ரீ பெரியவாளின் அந்தச் செயலை இந்த பக்தர் சிலாகித்து மகிழ்கிறார்.
இப்பேற்பட்ட அருட்கடலாம் ஸ்ரீஸ்ரீஸ்ரீ மஹாபெரியவாளை நாம் சரணடைந்தோமேயானால் நம் குறைகள் யாவையும் நிறைவு செய்து சகல சௌபாக்கியங்களையும், சர்வ மங்களங்களையும் அவர்தம் பேரருள் நமக்கெல்லாம் அள்ளி வழங்கும் என்பதில் ஐயமில்லை.

Our Paramatma is Krishna Paramatma
Shri Mahaperiyava, due to His kindness, to bless all the people, like a Sugabrahma Rishi Saint, took avatar as Shri Shri Shri Mahaperiyava, walked this earth and blessed us.
Sri Periyava has appeared in many forms such as Sri Rama, Sri Kamakshi, Vaitheeswaran and Pandaripuram Narayanan to various devotees based on their individual blessings. This incident is about a devotee like Kuselar and Sri Periyava appearing as his Krishna Paramatma to bless him.
The devotee gave various upanyasams and led his life with whatever money he could get out of it. His wife was not happy with his earnings and always talked to him harshly.
At this juncture, his daughter’s marriage had been fixed. With no money in their hands, they needed almost fifteen thousand rupees for the marriage. This was a huge amount in those days. As the Bagavathar did not know how to arrange for the money, his wife said, “I do not know what you will do, but arrange for fifteen thousand rupees as soon as possible.” With the intention of getting her daughter married, the mother felt it was her duty to tell this to her husband.
Bagavathar had talked about Seetha Kalyanam and Rukmini Kalyanam in his upanyasams, but did not know how to arrange the money for his daughter’s marriage. Bagavathar had only one way forward. He wanted to have darshan of Periyava and request for help. Periyava is Sarveshwaran, who helped devotees like Bagavathar and blessed the marriages in their families. Bagavathar decided to surrender himself to Sri Periyava and with great hopes started for Sri Periyava’s darshan.
He stood before Sri Periyava for darshan. Bagavathar was confused on how to tell his request to Sri Periyava. Bagavathar also did not know how Sri Periyava will accept his request and if it will be fulfilled. With lots of thoughts in his mind, he was unable to speak anything. Bagavathar also realized that even if he did not place his request before Sri Periyava, will the all-knowing Sarveshwaran not know what his needs were? With this thought, the Bagavathar stool before Sri Periyava without uttering any words.
Before Bagavathar could start talking, Sri Periyava asked, “Will you do me a favor?” It looked as if instead of Bagavathar asking something, it was Sri Periyava’s turn to ask.
Bagavathar immediately replied, “Periyava tell me. I will do it.” But in his mind, Bagavathar was worried that he will not be able to place his request.
Sri Periyava continued, “Few people from a village near Ambasamudram in Tirunelveli had come for darshan. There are no rains in their village and all the crops have been destroyed. They have a belief that if Bagavatha Upanyasam was performed in the local Perumal temple, then their problem will be solved. Can you please do me a favor? Can you immediately start to that village and complete the upanyasam? They will arrange everything for you. Will you do it?”
Bagavathar was unable to say no. He immediately started to complete Sri Periyava’s order. On reaching Tirunelveli, the Perumal temple Bhattachariar arranged food and a place to stay. Bagavathar was expecting the entire village to be present for the upanyasam, since this has been arranged by none other Sri Periyava Himself. But it turned out to be the other way around.
Due to difference of opinions, the temple committee was split into two different groups. Due to the fight between the two main leaders of the village, there was no conclusion on who will take care of the temple activities and hence the villagers decided to skip going to the temple. So it was only the temple Bhattachariar and the temple security, who participated in the upanyasam. Even though there were only two people, Bagavathar completed his upanyasam as ordered by Sri Periyava. When the upanyasam was over, Bhattachariar was very sad that the village is split into two and Bagavathar could not be honored with good Sambavanai.
Bhattachariar gave few rupee notes with some fruits and flowers in a plate, apologized to Bagavathar and said, “I seek forgiveness on behalf of this village. I am unable to give you the Sambavanai that you are supposed to get. I am giving something based on what best I could really do.”
The Sambavanai was only thirty rupees. The temple security felt odd and he gave the Bagavathar two rupees and fifty paisa. Instead of fifteen thousand rupees, Bagavathar ended up getting only thirty two rupees and fifty paisa. Even though Bagavathar consoled himself saying it is all as per the wish of Sarveshwaran, he was also concerned about facing his wife.
Since he was going back for Sri Periyava’s darshan, there was still a hope that there will be a solution to his problem.
As soon as he reached, Sri Periyava’s divine play started. He asked the Bagavathar, “Did the upanyasam go well? I think there should have been a huge crowd?”
Bagavathar hesitated and then explained how the village was split and only two people had attended the upanyasam. Sri Periyava looked at the Bagavathar for some time and then said, “You are really lucky.” Bagavathar looked at Sri Periyava with confusion.
“Even when Lord Krishna did Bhagavath Geeta upanyasam, there was only Arjuna to listen to it. You were lucky to have two people to listen to you.” Sri Periyava said with a smile on His face. He continued, “How much was the Sambavanai?”
Bagavathar replied, “Thirty-two rupees and fifty paisa.”
Sri Periyava immediately asked the Srimatam manager to do Sambavanai for Bagavathar. So he was unable to request help from Sri Periyava for his daughter’s marriage. He received thousand rupees from the Srimatam. He hurried back to his home, wondering what he would say to his wife.
But the events that followed there were totally opposite to what the Upanyasakar had imagined. His wife welcomed him by washing his feet and doing aarathi for him and took him into the Pooja room. Upanyasakar was totally confused on seeing all these things that were happening. On entering the Pooja room, he saw a plate filled with flowers, betel leaves and coconut with bundles of money in it.
His wife said in a very happy voice, “Just now someone from the Srimatam came and said that Sri Periyava had asked this to be given. You requested and Sri Periyava immediately sent the money. I left it in the Pooja room until you are back home.”
As the Bagavathar stood stunned, the wife counted the money. It was exactly fifteen thousand rupees that they wanted. Sri Periyava has blessed the Bagavathar, just like how Lord Krishna had blessed Kuselar. Bagavathar’s eyes were filled with tears. He understood that there is no limit to Sri Periyava’s kindness.
Ten and two makes twelve isn’t?
This is an incident narrated by a devotee of both Sri Periyava and Pradosham Mama, who had served at Srimatam.
On that particular day, Sri Periyava was talking about Srimatam’s poor financial situation. He said, “The Srimatam’s earning has gone down, but the spending has gone up.”
There were some cash that has been left by few devotees lying in the plate. Sri Periyava asks them to count that money.
They counted the money and said, “Two thousand.”
Sri Periyava replied, “Is it twelve thousand?”
They replied that it is only two thousand and then counted one more time to confirm that. But Sri Periyava continuous to ask if it is twelve thousand for two or three times and then the discussion stops.
After sometime dentist Dr. Subramanian comes for Sri Periyava’s darshan. The doctor requests for a plate from Sri Balu (during His Purvashramam) and then keeps some fruits, betel leaves, coconut along with one bundle of money. He explains that Srimatam can use the interest from the money for organizing for some particular Pooja.
Sri Periyava asks Sri Balu to count the money. It was exactly ten thousand. Sri Periyava with a smile asks Sri Balu, “So this ten thousand and that two thousand makes it twelve thousand, isn’t it?” All the other devotees around understand that Sri Periyava is Sarvagnan. The devotees narrate this incident saying who else other than Sri Periyava knew that somebody is going to bring ten thousand in the afternoon.
It is true that if we surrender at the feet of Periyava we will be blessed with health, wealth, peace and happiness.
