“தன்னோட தீர்மானத்தை மத்தவாளுக்கு எந்த ரூபத்துல

வந்து வேணும்னாலும் தெரியப்படுத்துவார்-பெரியவா!”

(பர்வத மலை கிரிவலம் சம்பவத்தில் நடந்த அற்புதம்)

சர்வேஸ்வரன் சகல ஜீவராசிகளுக்கு படியளக்கறவர். சதா சர்வ காலமும் அவரோட நினைப்பெல்லாம் லோக ரட்சணம் பத்திதான் இருக்கும்னு புராணங்கள் எல்லாம் சொல்றது.

சாட்சாத் அந்தப் பரமேஸ்வரனோட அம்சமாவே வாழ்ந்த மஹா பெரியவாளும் அப்படித்தான். எப்பவும் எல்லாரும் நன்னா இருக்கணும். யார் யாருக்கு என்னென்ன தேவையோ அதை தேவை அறிஞ்சு பண்ணணும்கறதையே எப்பவும் சிந்தனையா வைச்சுண்டு இருந்தார்.

திருவண்ணாமலைக்குப் பக்கத்துல காஞ்சி கடலாடின்னு ஒரு கிராமம் இருக்கு. சிங்கம், புலி எல்லாம்கூட உலாவிண்டு இருந்துது. பகல்லயே அங்கே போறது ரொம்ப சிரமம். அந்த இடத்துக்குப் பக்கத்துல பெரிய மலைகள் எல்லாம் இருக்கு. அந்த மலைகள்ல ஒண்ணுல பரமேஸ்வரனும், ஈஸ்வரியும் கோயில் கொண்டிருக்கா. அந்த மலைக்குப் பேரு பர்வதமலை. சுவாமி, மல்லிகார்ஜூனர். அம்பாள் பிரமராம்பிகை.

பௌர்ணமியில திருவண்ணாமலையில கிரிவலம் போறமாதிரி பர்வத மலையை மார்கழி மாசம் ஒண்ணம்தேதி பிரதட்சணம் பண்றது சுத்துவட்டாரத்துல உள்ள கிராமத்து மக்களோட வழக்கம். மஹா பெரியவா எப்போல்லாம் அந்தப் பக்கமா போறாரோ அப்போல்லாம் அந்த மலையை பிரதட்சணம் பண்ணிடுவார். தோராயமா முப்பத்தஞ்சு, முப்பத்தாறு கிலோமீட்டர் தூரம் சுத்திவர வேண்டியது இருக்கும். ஆசார்யா கூட போறவாள்லாம், மேல்மூச்சு கீழ்மூச்சு வாங்க நடப்பா. ஆனா, பெரியவா வழக்கமா சாதாரணப் பாதையில நடக்கறதைவிட ரொம்ப வேகமா, அதேசமயம் கொஞ்சமும் தடுமாறாம அந்த மலைப்பாதையில நடப்பார்.

ஒருதரம் மார்கழி மாசம் ஒண்ணாந்தேதி அன்னிக்கு பர்வத மலையை வலம் வரணும்னுட்டு முதல்நாளே போய்பக்கத்துல முகாம் போட்டுட்டா பெரியவா. சரியான பாதை இல்லாத அந்தக் காலத்துலயே கிட்டத்தட்ட ரெண்டு லட்சம்பேர் கிரிவலம் பண்ணுவா. அதனால விடியற்காலம்பற மூணு மணிக்கே பிரதட்சணம் பண்ண ஆரம்பிச்சுடணும்னு தீர்மானிச்சார், ஆசார்யா.

அதுக்கப்புறம் பெரியவா கூட வந்த சிப்பந்திகள் எல்லாரும் போஜனம் பண்ணிட்டு தூங்கப் போயிட்டா. பாதி ராத்திரி இருக்கும். சிப்பந்தியில ஒருத்தர் திடீர்னு எழுந்து உட்கார்ந்தார். தான் எழுந்துண்டதோட இல்லாம மத்தவாளையும் எழுப்பினார்.

பெரியவா என் சொப்பனத்துல வந்து, “நீங்கள்லாம் சின்ன வயசுக்காரா. பசியைத் தாங்கிண்டு பிரதட்சணம் பண்ணுவேள். சுத்துப்பட்டு கிராமத்துல இருந்தெல்லாம் பலரும் வராளே… அவாள்லாம் சாப்பாட்டுக்கு என்ன பண்ணுவா? கைக்குழந்தை இருந்தாலும், அடுத்தவேளை சாப்பாட்டுக்கே கஷ்டப்பட்டாலும் எல்லாத்தையும் சகிச்சுண்டு. குழந்தைகளையும் தூக்கிண்டு பிரதட்சணம் பண்றாளே அவாளுக்கு சாப்பிட ஏதாவது பண்ணக்கூடாதா?’ன்னு கேட்டார்னு சொன்னார்.

உடனே இன்னொருத்தர், “எனக்கும் அதேமாதிரி கனவு வந்துது. பண்டிகை, நாள் நட்சத்திரம்னாதான் இனிப்புப் பண்டமெல்லாம் பண்ணணுமா? அன்னதானத்துலயும் இனிப்புப் பலகாரத்தை சேர்த்துக் குடுத்தா, பாவம் ஏழைகள் சந்தோஷப்படுவா இல்லையா?’ அப்படின்னு பெரியவா சொல்றமாதிரி இருந்துது.

அவ்வளவுதான் எல்லாரும் எழுந்துண்டுட்டா. கிரிவலம் வர்றவாளுக்கு அன்னதானம் பண்ணறது. அதுவும் இனிப்போட தர்றதுன்னு தீர்மானிச்சா. ஆனா, பரிசாரகர் சொன்ன ஒரு விஷயம் அவாளை யோசிக்க வைச்சுது. முகாம்ல கொஞ்சமே கொஞ்சம்தான் அரிசி இருக்கு. அதை வைச்சுண்டு, எப்படி லட்சக்கணக்கானவாளுக்கு அன்னதானம் பண்ண சமைக்கறதுன்னுதான் கேள்வி எழுப்பினார் அவர்.

அந்த அர்த்த ராத்திரியில எங்கேயும் போய் அரிசி கேட்கவோ, வாங்கிண்டு வரவோ வசதி கிடையாது. அன்னதானம் பண்ணணும்னா, விடியற்காலம்பறவே சமையல் பண்ணிடணும் அதனால என்ன செய்யறதுன்னு அவா யோசிச்சுண்டு இருந்தப்போ, முகாமோட வாசல்ல மாட்டு வண்டி ஒண்ணு வந்து நின்றது.

அதுல இருந்து இறங்கிவந்த ஒருத்தர், “என்ன ஆச்சர்யம்! எல்லாரும் தூங்கிண்டு இருப்பேள்னு நினைச்சேன். முழிச்சுண்டு இருக்கேளே… நான் பக்கத்து ஊர்க்காரன். மஹா பெரியவா பிடி அரிசித் திட்டத்தை அறிவிச்சதுல இருந்து எங்க ஊர்க்காரா எல்லாரும் அதைத் தட்டாம செஞ்சுண்டு இருக்கோம். மூணுமாசமா சேர்த்த அரிசியை காஞ்சிபுரத்துல கொண்டு வந்து தரலாம்னு நினைச்சுண்டு இருந்தப்போ, ஆசார்யா இங்கேயே முகாம் போட்டிருக்கான்னு தெரிஞ்சுது. அதான் இங்கேயே கொடுத்துடலாம்னு கொண்டு வந்தேன்’ சொல்லிவிட்டு அரிசி மூட்டைகளை இறக்கி வைக்க ஆரம்பிச்சார்.

கிட்டத்தட்ட முப்பது மூட்டை அரிசியோட சர்க்கரை, உளுந்தும் இறக்கி வைச்சார். அதெல்லாமும் சிலர் குடுத்ததா சொன்னார். “விடியற்காலம்பறவே எனக்கு முக்கியமான வேலை இருக்கு. அதனால ஆசார்யாகிட்டே என்னோட வந்தனத்தை சொல்லிடுங்கோ, நான் புறப்படறேன்’னு சொன்னவர் பதிலுக்குக்கூட காத்துண்டு இருக்காம புறப்பட்டுப் போயிட்டார்.

அன்னதானத்துக்கு ஆசார்யாளோட அனுகிரகம் கிடைச்சுடுத்துங்கறதைப் புரிஞ்சுண்டு மளமளன்னு அடுப்பைப் பத்தவைச்சு சமையலைத் தொடங்கினா எல்லாரும் உளுந்தும் சர்க்கரையும் கிடைச்சுட்டதால ஜாங்கிரியும் சேர்த்துத் தரலாம்னு தீர்மானிச்சு பண்ண ஆரம்பிச்சுட்டா.

எல்லாரும் சமைக்கறதுல தீவிரமா இருந்ததுல மணியைக்கூட பார்க்கலை. தீர்மானிச்சபடி மூணுமணிக்கு டாண்ணு பிரதட்சணத்தை ஆரம்பிச்சட்ட ஆசார்யா, சமைச்சுண்டு இருந்தவா பக்கம் மெதுவா திரும்பினார். “முப்பது மூட்டை அரிசி… அன்னதானம் பண்ண போதுமோன்னோ! பக்குவமா பண்ணி ஒருத்தர் விடாம எல்லாருக்கும் குடுத்துடுங்கோ!’ சொன்னவர், மௌனமா புன்னகைச்சட்ட நடக்க ஆரம்பிச்சுட்டார்.

வந்தது முப்பது மூட்டை அரிசிங்கறதை யாருமே மஹா பெரியவா கிட்டே சொல்லலை. அது மட்டுமல்லாம, அன்னதானம் பண்ணணும்னு ஆசார்யா நேரடியா யார்கிட்டேயும் சொல்லலை. சொப்பனத்துல வந்த காட்சியை வைச்சுதான் பாதிராத்திரியில தீர்மானமே பண்ணினாங்க. இதெல்லாம் எப்படி அவருக்கு தெரிஞ்சுது? இதையெல்லாம்விட புரிஞ்சுக்கவே முடியாத புதிர் என்ன தெரியுமா? சமைச்ச முப்பது மூட்டை அரிசி ரொம்ப சரியா கிரிவலம் வந்த கடைசி நபருக்குக் குடுத்ததோட தீர்ந்துடுத்து. அதுக்கப்புறம் யாரும் வலமும் வரலை. அன்னமும் மீறலை.

கிரிவலம் வர்றவாளுக்கு அன்னதானம் பண்ணணும்கறதை தீர்மானிச்சது யாரோ, அவரேதான் அதுக்கான அரிசி உள்ளிட்ட எல்லாத்தையும் கொண்டுவந்து சேர்த்திருக்கார்ங்கறது அப்போதான் எல்லாருக்கும் புரிஞ்சுது. தெய்வம் அசரீரியாவோ கனவுல வந்தோ பேசும்னு சொல்லுவாளே, அதேமாதிர மஹா பெரியவாளும் தன்னோட தீர்மானத்தை மத்தவாளுக்கு எந்த ரூபத்துல வந்து வேணும்னாலும் தெரியப்படுத்துவார்ங்கறதையும் உணர முடிஞ்சது.

(Miraculous incident that happened during Parvatha giri valam)

Sarveshwaran feeds this universe. Puranas says that he is packed eternally with the thoughts on protecting this world. Similarly, Periyava who lived as a facet of that parameshwaran, was also like that. Forever everyone should be fine. Ceaselessly, his thinking was to understand the exact need of each person and realize that need.

There is a village called KanchiKadaladi, close to Thiruvannamalai. Wild animals like lion, tiger were wandering there. Even in the day time it’s tough to go. Nearby there are great mountains. In one of those mountains there is a temple for parvati parameshwara. That mountain is called “parvata malai”. Swami – mallikarjuna and ambal – bramarambigai.

There is a practice by the villagers residing in the neighbourhood, to circumambulate this mountain on margazhi 1^st as it is done at thiruvannamalai on poornima. Paramacharyal will circumambulate this mountain whenever he traverses this place. Approximately it takes 35km to 36 km to circumambulate. Those circumambulating along with acharyal will in fact have to walk with a gasp. But periyava will walk swiftly and effortlessly in the mountain path than in an ordinary pathway.

Once, to circumambulate parvatha malai on margazhi 1^st, periyava camped a day earlier nearer to that place. Even in those days, though there was no proper path, around 2 lakhs people will circumambulate that mountain. So, acharyal decided to start at 3’O clock early morning. Subsequently adherents who were with periyava had their dinner and went to sleep. It was perhaps midnight. One of the adherents apart from getting wakened aroused others also.

He said,”Periyava came in my dream and said, “You all are young. Can withstand hunger and do circumambutation. Many people are coming from neighbouring village… What will they do for the food? Though having an infant and struggling for the next part of food, are patiently carrying their kid and circumambulating the mountain. Can’t you arrange some meal for them?

Right away, another guy said, I too got a similar dream. It was like Periyava saying “Is sweets to be done only during festivals and occasions? If we include them in annadhanam (food handouts), poor people will be glad, isn’t?”

Instantly, everybody got up. They decided to organize annadhanam and that too along with a sweet for individuals doing giri valam (circumambulating the mountain). But they were upset about the information storekeeper said. There is not sufficient rice in the camp. Keeping this, how can we meet out annadhanam for lakhs of people?

In this untimely hour it is unfeasible to request or purchase rice. If annadhanam has to be done, we have to be ready by early morning. While they were all pondering over the issue, a cow-cart came and stood at the entrance.

A person came from that and said”What a surprise! I thought all would be sleeping. But all are awake. I am from a neighbouring place. From the moment paramacharyal initiated pidiarisi thitam, in our locality we carry-out it without any interruption. When we were planning to hand over the rice what we had stored for 3 months in kanchipuram, we heard that periyava has camped here. So, I will deliver the rice here itself.” Saying this he unloaded the cart.

Almost 30 bags of rice along with urad dhal and sugar were there. “Those were given by some people” he said. “I have some work in the early morning so please convey my namaskaram to acharyal. I am leaving.” Saying this not even waiting for a reply he started off.

Periyava’s blessing for annadanam is implicit. At once we started to cook in full swing, preferring janggery for sweet as we had urad dhal and sugar.

We didn’t notice the time as we were busy in cooking. As discussed, periyava started at 3’O clock for giri valam. He turned slowly towards the cook and asked, “Is 30 bags of rice enough for annadhanam? Cook well and distribute without missing any one.” Saying this he left with a smile.

No one conveyed to periyava about the number of bags arrived. Moreover he didn’t state anything about annadhanam directly. Only based on the dream this annadhanam got sketched in the mid-night. Then how does he know.

The mind-boggling part in this is that the cooked 30 bags of rice got over precisely after serving the last person doing giri valam. After which no one came and also no food was left.

It is crystal clear, “the person who proposed to do annadhanam for the people doing giri valam, had only arranged provisions”. Similar to the God, who either formless or in the dream talks to us, does our periyava passes on his resolution in any form. – Shri P. Ramakrishnan.
