திரு மென்மலர்ப் பாதங்கள்!

சுகப்பிரம்மரிஷி அவர்களின் மேனமையினை நாம் கேட்டு அறிந்திருக்கிறோம். ஆனால் மேன்மையுடன் கூடிய ஸ்ரீஸ்ரீஸ்ரீ மஹா பெரியவாள் எனும் சாட்சாத் ஈஸ்வரரின் மகிமைகளை நாம் எல்லோரும் நேரே கண்டு அனுபவிக்கும் ஆனந்தத்தை பெற்றிருப்பதை என்னென்பது!

அப்படி ஒரு ஆனந்த அனுபவத்தைப் பெற்ற ஸ்ரீபெரியவாளின் பக்தையான ஸ்ரீமதி கனகம்மா ராமசுவாமி அந்த அரிய சம்பவத்தை திரு. ரா. கணபதி அவர்களின் மூலம் நமெக்கெல்லாம் பகிர்ந்தளிக்கிறார்.

ஸ்ரீமதி கனகம்மாவிற்கு உஷ்ணமாகிப்போன உலகின் தாபத்தை தாங்குகின்ற பரமேஸ்வரரான ஸ்ரீஸ்ரீஸ்ரீ மஹா பெரியவாளுக்கு (அந்த கொதிப்பை ஏற்று நிற்கும் பாதகமலங்களுக்கு) குளுமையான சந்தனத்தாலான பாதுகையை சமர்பிக்க வேண்டுமென்ற ஆவல் பிறந்தது.

அப்படியொரு சந்தனக் கலவையில் பதித்த ஸ்ரீஸ்ரீஸ்ரீ மஹாபெரியவாளின் ஸ்ரீபாத சுவடுகள் தங்களது குடும்பத்திற்கு க்ஷேமநிதியா கிடைக்க வேண்டுமென்றும், அந்த திருபாத சுவடிற்கு, தினந்தோறும் பூஜை செய்வித்து மகிழ வேண்டுமென்பதே பக்தையின் உயர்நோக்கம்.

நறுமணம் கமழும் சந்தனக் கலவையை தயாரித்து ஸ்ரீபெரியவாளைத் தரிசிக்க சென்றார். அந்த கலவையின் மேல் ஸ்ரீ பெரியவா பாதங்களை பதித்துத் தந்து அருளுமாறு வேண்டி நின்றார்.

ஸ்ரீஸ்ரீஸ்ரீ மஹா பெரியவாளின் குரு, பரமகுரு ஆகிய இருவரும் பரம்பொருளிடம் ஒன்றிக் கலந்த இடமாக கலவையில் சம்பவம் நடந்ததாக ஸ்ரீ ரா. கணபதி நயமுடன் விளக்குகிறார்.

அந்த அம்மாவின் பக்திக்கும், அவர் தம் பிறந்த வீட்டாரும், புகுந்த வீட்டாரும் ஸ்ரீஸ்ரீஸ்ரீ மஹா பெரியவாளிடம் பக்தி கொண்டிருந்ததாலோ, பக்தர்களின் எந்த கோரிக்கையையும் அது நியாயமாக இருக்கும் பட்சத்தில் அந்தப் பெருங்கருணை நிறைவேற்றியருளும் என்பதாலும் ஸ்ரீ பெரியவா தன் கமல மலர் போன்றத் திருபாதங்களை சந்தனக் கலவையின் மேல் வைத்து அழுத்தி அமரலானார்.

ஸ்ரீ பெரியவாளுக்கு குளிர்ச்சி பாதித்து சீதம் கொண்டுவிடுமோ என சூழ்ந்திருந்த பக்தர்கள் கவலைக் கொள்ளும் அளவு நெடு நேரமாக தன் கமலக்கழல்களைப் பதித்தவாறு ஸ்ரீ பெரியவா அருளினார்.

இத்தகு சீரடிச் சுவடுகளை ஸ்ரீ பெரியவா சந்தனமாகக் குழைந்து வரும் தனது அருளின் வடிவமாக சந்தனக்குழம்பில் அளித்த பெருநாள் சுக்லவருஷம், புரட்டாசி, கிருஷ்ணபட்ச சஷ்டியும் புதன்கிழமையும் சேர்ந்த நன்னாள்.

இந்தத் திருப்பாதப்படிவை அந்த அம்மையார் சென்னையில் தன் வீட்டிற்கு மிக ஆனந்தத்தோடு கொண்டு சென்றார். மூன்று மாதங்கள் சென்றன. ஸ்ரீமதி கனகம்மாவிற்கு ஒரு கவலை ஏற்படலானது.

சந்தனம் மெல்ல காய்ந்து காய்ந்து வந்ததில் அந்த திருபாதப்படிவம் எங்கும் வெடிப்புகள் தோன்றலாயின. பக்தையின் மனம் பதைபதைத்தது. ஸ்ரீஸ்ரீஸ்ரீ மஹா பெரியவாளின் திருப்பாதங்களே இவை என்ற உணர்வோடும் பக்தியோடும் இருந்த அவர் மனநிலைக்கு, இதை சந்தனம் காய்ந்த இயல்பான வெடிப்புகளாகக் கருத மனம் இடமளிக்கவில்லை. மிகவும் வேதனையுற்றார்.

தன வேதனைக்கு வேறு யாரிடம் வேண்டுவதென்று தெரியாமல் ஸ்ரீ பெரியவாளிடமே ஓடினாள். அங்கோ சோதனையாக ஒரு பெரிய பக்தர் கூட்டம் ஸ்ரீ பெரியவாளை சூழ்ந்து நின்றிருந்தது. ஸ்ரீ பாத சுவடுகளில் வெடிப்பு ஏற்பட்டிருப்பதை ஸ்ரீ பெரியவாளிடம் முறையிட்டால் தன் மனக்கவலைத் தீரும் என்று ஏங்கி வந்த பக்தைக்கு அதை ஸ்ரீ பெரியவாளிடம் கூறும் வகையில் சூழ்நிலை அங்கில்லை. முக்கியப்பட்டவர்கள் வருகையினால் ஓரே பரப்பரப்பாக இருந்தது.

மெதுவாக ஸ்ரீ பெரியவாளை நெருங்கிய பக்தைக்கு புஷ்பங்களால் மூடியிருந்த சந்தனப் பாதுகைகளை அந்த மகான் முன்னே நகர்த்தத்தான் முடிந்த்தேயன்றி அதன் கோரிக்கையைக் கேட்க இயலவில்லை.

ஆனால் ஸ்ரீஸ்ரீஸ்ரீ மஹா பெரியவாளே பக்தையின் மனதிற்கு கொஞ்சம் இதமளிக்கும் வகையில் தன் சிரஸில் அணிந்திருந்த வன்னி பத்திர மாலையை எடுத்து அந்தப் பாத பதிவுகளின் மேல் போட்டு அனுக்ரஹித்தார்.

“தை மாதம் வசந்த பஞ்சமியில் மாயவரம் சீதாப்ப்பாட்டி பாடசாலையில் ஆசார்யாள் சந்நிதியில் பிரதிஷ்டை பண்ணிடு” என்று வேறு ஸ்ரீ பெரியவா இந்த பக்தைக்கு அருட்கட்டளையிட்டார்.

ஸ்ரீ பெரியவா இப்படிக் கூறிவிட்டு மற்ற பக்தர்களிடம் தன் அருட்ப்பார்வையை நகர்த்திக் கொண்டதால் கனகம்மாவிற்கு வெடிப்புகளைப் பற்றி முறையிடவே முடியாமல் போனது. இப்படி வன்னிமாலையை பாதசுவடுகளின் மேலே போட்டு அதை பிரதிஷ்டை செய்யும் பாக்யத்தையும் ஸ்ரீ பெரியவா அருளியிருந்தும் பக்தையின் மனம் திருப்தி கொள்ளவில்லை. தான் வந்ததன் நோக்கம் நிறைவேறவில்லையே என்று ஏக்கம் தான் மிகுந்திருந்தது.

சென்னைக்குத் திரும்பும் வழியெல்லாம் அம்மையாருக்கு இதே கவலைதான். வேறு யாரிடமாவது கட்டாயம் இதைப்பற்றிக்  கேட்டறிந்து அந்த சந்தனச் சுவடு விரிசல்களை சரிசெய்தாலன்றி அவர் மனம் சமாதானமாகாது போலிருந்தது.

‘சரி எதுவும் பெரியவா விட்டவழி’ என்று வீடு திரும்பினாள்

உடனே யாரிடமோ கேட்ட உபாயத்தை மேற்கொண்டு சந்தனவெடிப்புகளை ஒட்டுப்பார்க்கலாமென்ற ஆவல் மிகுதியோடு அந்த பாத சுவடுகளின் மேலிருந்த புஷ்பங்கள் மற்றும் ஸ்ரீஸ்ரீஸ்ரீ மஹா பெரியவா அருளியிருந்த வன்னி பத்திர மாலையையும் சற்றே விலக்கினாள்.

விலக்கிப் பார்த்த பக்தை விக்கித்து நின்றாள். அதில் பக்தை கண்ட அதிசயத்தை என்னென்பது?

கொண்டு சென்ற போது முழு பரப்பளவிலும் வெடிப்புகளாக காணப்பட்ட சந்தனப்பாதவடிவங்களா இவை என்ற ஆச்சர்யமும், அதிசயமுமாக அதைப் பார்த்து பரவசமுற்றாள். ஆம் அப்படி ஒரு வியப்பு! வெடித்த சுவடு துளியும் தெரியாமல் பாதச்சுவடுகள் முழுமையாக சீர்மையாகக் காட்சி அளித்தன.

அவை எப்படி சீராயின? இத்தனை நாள் கவலையைக் கொடுத்து எதை செய்தாலும் ஒட்டிக் கொள்ளாத சந்தன வெடிப்புகள் எப்படி ஒரே சீராக இப்போது காட்சி அருளுகின்றன. இது சாட்சாத் ஈஸ்வரனின் திருஷ்டிபட்டதன் மகிமையா? மகாதேவனின் சிரஸில் அணிந்திருந்த வன்னிபத்ர மாலையின் மகிமையா? அந்த ஈஸ்வர சந்நிதியின் விஷேச மகிமையா?

ஸ்ரீமதி கனகம்மா ஆச்சர்யத்திலிருந்து விடுபட வெகுநேரமாயிற்று. இனி ஒருகாலும் வெடிக்காது என்று உறுதியாகக் கூறும் வகையில் சுவடுகள் கான்கீரீட்டாக கெட்டிப்பட்டிருப்பதை எப்படி நம்புவதென்றே பக்தைக்குத் தெரியவில்லை. சாட்சாத் ஈஸ்வரனின் திருப்பாதங்கள் இவை என மீண்டும் உறுதிப்பட்டநிலையில் ஸ்ரீ பெரியவா குறிப்பிட்டிருந்த தை மாதம் வஸந்த பஞ்சமி தினம் வரை அந்த பக்தை இந்த மகிமை வாய்ந்த சந்தனப்பாதுகைகளை தன் இல்லத்தில் வைத்து பூஜித்தார்.

நன்மணிகள் பதித்து அலங்காரம் செய்வித்து வனப்பு மிக்க கண்ணாடிப் பேழையில் அந்த சந்தனப்பாதங்களை வைத்தனர். அதோடு ஒரு செப்பேட்டில் ஸ்ரீகுரு சரணம் பற்றிய சுலோகமும் பதிவு செய்து பிரிதிஷ்டை செய்ய உத்தேசித்தனர்.

பிரதிஷ்டைக்காக பக்தர்கள் மயிலாடுதுறை செல்லுமுன் ஸ்ரீஸ்ரீஸ்ரீ மஹா பெரியவாளைத் தரிசிக்க மீண்டும் காஞ்சி வந்தனர்.

அந்த பாதுகைகளைக் கொண்டு சென்று சமர்ப்பித்தபோது யாரும் எதிர்ப்பார்க்காத வகையில் ஸ்ரீ பெரியவா அந்த சந்தன சுவடுகளில் திரும்பவும் தான் ஏறி நின்று ஏதோ பாதணியை சரிப்பார்ப்பது போல அனுக்ரஹம் பொழிந்தார். ஸ்ரீ பெரியவா காய்ந்திருந்த அந்த சந்தனப் பாதத்தில் சரியாக தனது பாதங்கள் அழுந்துமாறு மீண்டும் பொருத்த வைத்து அப்படியே ஏறி குந்தியமர்ந்து காட்சியருளினார்.

அப்படி அமர்ந்த நிலையில் ஆசமனம் செய்துவிட்டு சொம்பிலிருந்த தீர்த்தத்தை இடது பாத சுவட்டின்மேல் படும்படியாக விட்டார்.

குஞ்சிதபாதம் என்று தனியானதொரு தெய்வம் போல வழிபடப் பெறுவது இடப் பாதம் தானே? யமனை உதைத்து அமர நிலையை அடைவிப்பது அதுதானே? அதனால்தானோ ஸ்ரீ பெரியவா அந்த இடதுபாதத்திற்கு கும்பாபிஷேகமாகவே செய்வித்துள்ளார்!

இதைப் பார்த்துக் கொண்டிருந்த கனகம்மாளுக்கு ஆனந்தம் ஒருபுறமிருந்தாலும் கலக்கமும் மேலோங்கியது. இது என்ன சோதனை! அன்று வெடிப்புக்களை மாயமாக போக்கிய ஈசன் இன்று அதில் ஏறி அமர்ந்ததோடல்லாமல் நீரை வார்த்து சந்தனத்தை சொத சொதப்பாகும்படி செய்து விட்டரே? அதனால் திரும்பவும் சந்தன பதிவு கட்டாயம் உருமாறிவிடுமே என்று அஞ்சி நின்றாள். மனமுருக அப்படி ஆகலாகாது அருளும்படி வேண்டினார்.

திரும்பவும் ஒரு அதிசயமாக அத்தனை அழுத்தத்திற்கும், சொத சொதப்பிற்கும் மீறி ஸ்ரீ பெரியவாளின் பூப்போன்ற திருமேனியின் மேன்மை அந்த சந்தனப் பதிவுகளைத் துளியும் அசைக்கவில்லை. இது எப்பேற்பட்ட அனுபவம்? கண்ணுற்ற கனகம்மாவும் மற்ற பக்தர்களும் கண்ணில் ஆனந்த நீர் பெருக ஆனந்த தாண்டவம் புரியும் ஸ்ரீ பெரியவாளெனும் தெய்வத்தை உணர்ந்து கொண்ட பாக்யத்தில் விழுந்து வணங்கினர். 30-1-1990 அன்று மயிலாடுதுறையில் மஹா வைபவமாக இந்த சந்தனத் திருபாதுகை பிரதிஷ்டை நடந்தேறி இன்றளவும் நித்திய பூஜைகள் தொடர்கின்றன.

ஒரு அற்புத தரிசனம்

தன் கணவரோடு கிழக்கு தாம்பரத்தில் வசிக்கும் ஒரு பெரியவா பக்தை, தான் ஸ்ரீ பெரியவாளைத் தரிசிக்க செல்லும் போதெல்லாம் தன் சிறுவயதில் தனக்குக் கிட்டிய ஒரு ஆபூர்வ தரிசனத்தின் ஞாபகம் மனதில் தோன்றுவதால் மகானிடம் எதையும் கேட்க முடியாமல் அந்த ஆனந்த அனுபவ உணர்ச்சிகள் பெருகித் தடை செய்துவிடுவதாகக் கூறுகிறார்.

1977 முதல் 1980 வரை இவர் சின்ன காஞ்சிபுரத்தில் இருந்தபோது தேனம்பாக்கத்தில் ஸ்ரீ பெரியவா வாசம் செய்து கொண்டிருந்தார். அடிக்கடி போய் இவர்கள் ஸ்ரீ பெரியவாளைத் தரிசிப்பதுண்டு. அப்படி ஒரு நாள் சென்றபோது ஒரு அற்புதக் காட்சியைக் காணும் பாக்யம் கிட்டியது.

அன்று தரிசனத்திற்கு வந்த பக்தர்கள் திடீரென்று ஸ்ரீ பெரியவா இருந்த இடத்தை நோக்கி ‘ஹரஹர சிவசிவ’ என்று கன்னத்தில் போட்டுக் கொண்டு ஓடினர். இருவரும் விரைந்து அங்கே சென்று ஆவலோடு நின்ற போது அந்த அதிசய திருகாட்சி அரங்கேறியிருந்தது.

ஆமாம் சாட்சாத் நடராஜ மூர்த்தியாம் ஸ்ரீஸ்ரீஸ்ரீ மஹா பெரியவா அதை தானே வெளிக்காட்டியருளும் விதமாக கையில் தண்டத்தை ஏந்தி தன் கண்மலர்களை மூடியபடி பரமானந்தத்துடன் “ஆனந்த தாண்டவம்” புரிந்த அந்த அற்புத காட்சியால் பக்தர்கள் மெய்சிலிர்த்தனர். அந்த பரமேஸ்வரரே தோன்றி ஆடுவது போல திவ்யமான அனுபவம் அங்குள்ளோர் அனைவருக்கும் அருளப்பட்டது.

தன் வாழ்நாளில் அடைந்த இப்படி ஒரு அரிய அனுபவத்தை என்றும் மறக்க முடியாத நிலையில் இந்த பக்தைக்கு அதற்கு பிறகு ஸ்ரீ பெரியவாளைத் தரிசிக்கச் செல்லும் போதெல்லாம் இந்த திருக்காட்சியே மனத்திரையில் மேலோங்கி நிற்க ஸ்ரீ பெரியவாளை வேறு எதையும் கேட்கவிடாமல் செய்துவிடுவதாக மனமுருக ஆனந்தப்படுகிறார்.

இப்படி மற்றொரு பக்தைக்கு அனுக்ரஹம்!

அற்புத நாயன்மார்க்கு அபூர்வ அனுக்ரஹம்!

சந்தன பாதுகையாலும், குஞ்சித பாதத்தாலும் இப்படி இருவேறு பக்தைகளுக்கு அருளிய ஸ்ரீ பெரியவா தன் பரமபக்தரான 64ம் நாயன்மாரெனும் பிரம்மஸ்ரீ பிரதோஷமாமாவிற்கு ஈடு இணையில்லாத யாருக்கும் கிடைத்தறியாத பெரும்பாக்யத்தை தன் திருப்பாதக்கமலங்களினால் அனுக்ரஹித்துள்ளார்.

ஒரு சித்திரை மாதப்பிறப்பு புண்ணிய தினம்! கூட்டம் திரளாக வந்திருந்தது. பக்தகோடிகளுக்கு தன் அருட்பார்வையினால் மட்டுமே ஆசி வழங்க இயலும் என்ற வகையில் அத்தனை கூட்டம் காத்திருக்க, மீளா அடிமை என தன்னை தாழ்த்திக் கொண்ட பிரதோஷமாமாவிற்கு அன்று பேரானந்தம் நல்க ஸ்ரீ பெரியவா விழைந்திட்டார்.

நாதனின் பொற்பாதங்கள், செஞ்சடையோனின் மலரடிகள், புண்ணிய பூமியை வலம் வந்த மென்னடிகள், காண்போர் துயர் துடைக்கும் கழலடிகள், திருமாலும் நான்முகனும் காணாத திருவடிகள் எனும் அந்த ஆதியாம் பாதமலர்களை பிரம்மஸ்ரீ பிரதோஷ மாமாவின் சிரம் தாங்க ஈஸ்வரராம் ஸ்ரீஸ்ரீஸ்ரீ மஹா பெரியவாளின் ஆபூர்வமாக அனுக்ரஹித்தது.

அந்த சித்திரை நன்னாளில் இதைக் கண்ணுற்ற அத்தனை பக்தர்களும் “என்னே தங்களுக்குக் கிட்டிய பாக்யம்” என்று ஆனந்தித்தப் போது, இப்படி ஒரு பேரனுக்ரஹத்தை அடைந்திட்ட நாயன்மாரின் மேன்மையை எப்படி வியப்பது? இதுபோல மற்றொரு சமயமும் அந்த ஆடிய பாதங்களை அந்த சிதம்பரநாதனான ஸ்ரீ பெரியவா பிரதோஷ மாமாவின் சிரம் தாங்கச் செய்ததிலிருந்து அவரை 64ம் நாயன்மாரென ஊர்ஜிதம் செய்தருளி விட்டாரல்லவா!

அன்று திருநல்லூரில் அப்பர் பிரானுக்கு கிடைத்திட்ட ஈசனடி சூடும் பேரானந்த அனுபவம் போல இன்று பிரம்மஸ்ரீ பிரதோஷம் மாமாவிற்கும் அருளப்பட்டுள்ளதை எப்படி வியப்பதென்று தெரியவில்லை.

ஸ்ரீஸ்ரீஸ்ரீ மஹா பெரியவாளின் திவ்ய கமலங்களில் சரணடையும்போது அங்கே பிரம்ம ஸ்ரீ பிரதோஷ நாயன்மாரின் சிரம் தாழ்ந்த பக்தியும் நம் நினைவில் வந்து அனைவருக்கும் சர்வ மங்களங்களையும் சர்வ ஐஸ்வர்யங்களையும் மனசாந்தியும் அருளிக் காப்பாற்றும் என்பது திண்ணமல்லவா.!

Shri Shri Shri Mahaperiyavaal Mahimai (18-5-2011)

“Sacred lotus feet”

Shri Mahaperiyava, due to His kindness, to bless all the people, like a Sugabrahma Rishi Saint, took avatar as Shri Shri Shri Mahaperiyava, walked this earth and blessed us.

Periyava devotee Srimathi Kanagamma Ramaswami describes an incident to us through Shri Ra. Ganapathy.

Srimathi Kanagamma Ramaswami’s desire was to offer a sandalwood “padhuka” to the holy feet of Periyava. Those are the feet that holds this entire universe.

Her desire was to have the impression of Periyava’s holy feet in the sandalwood paste (Sandhana Kalavai) for her to take back home, so she can do Pooja daily. She prepared the sandalwood paste and went for Periyava’s darshan.

This incident happened at “Kalavai”, the place where Periyava’s Guru and Paramaguru had attained Siddhi. Shri Ra. Ganapathy explains that it was not a coincidence that she had bought the Sandalwood Kalavai for Periyava’s darshan at Kalavai.

For her bhakthi, her family’s devotion, Periyava’s kindness towards devotee’s righteous requests, Periyava kept His holy feet in the Sandalwood Kalavai. He kept His feet for quite some time that the other devotees were worried that Periyava might catch cold. This amazing event happened on year Shukla, in the month of Puratasi, Krishnapaksha Sashti (the day being a Wednesday).

Srimathi Kanagamma took it home happily. Three months passed and she started to worry about something.

As the sandal started to dry, cracks started to appear in it. She has been praying Periyava’s holy feet daily and she was very upset with the cracks. Since she did not know to whom she could tell about this, she decided to tell this to Periyava. There was a large number of devotees waiting for Periyava’s darshan on that day.

As she neared Periyava for darshan, she was only able to give the sandalwood Padhuka covered with flowers to Periyava. She was unable to tell Periyava about the cracks. Periyava took the “Vanni” flower garland from his head and kept it on the padhuka and gave it back to her. She was still not happy, since she could not tell Periyava about the cracks.

Periyava asked her to install the padhuka at the Acharyal sannidhi at Mayavaram Seetha paati patasalai on Vasantha Panchami occurring during the Tamil month of Thai (Jan – Feb). After saying this, Periyava started to talk to the next devotee standing waiting in the line. Even though Periyava had blessed her with the vanni flower garland, she was still disappointed that, she could not inform Him about the cracks. On the way back to Chennai, her thoughts were completely about this. She decided to tell about this to somebody else and try to find a way to fix it. She consoled herself saying that everything happens according to His wishes. After reaching home, she wanted to ask somebody for ideas to fix the crack. As she moved the flowers, she was surprised to see that there were no cracks.

Where did all the cracks go? How can all those cracks that were there for couple of months just disappear in one day? Was this fixed when Periyava saw it or was it because of the vanni flower garland that was placed on it or was it the sanctity of Periyava’s Sannidhi?

It took a lot of time for Srimathi Kanagamma to come out of her surprise. The cracks have been fixed in such a way that it will not crack once again. As per Periyava’s instructions, she performed the Pooja until Vasantha Panchami. She decorated it with gems and kept it in a glass container. She also wanted to inscribe the slokam about Shri Guru Sharanam and install it along with this padhuka.

Before taking the padhuka to Mayavaram, they came to Kanchipuram for Periyava darshan. They again offered the padhuka to Periyava for His blessings. Periyava kept His holy feet on the sandalwood padhuka, as if to check if it was correct. He sat in squatting position and did achamanam. Everyone was surprised, when Periyava poured the water on His left leg. Is it not the left leg that is worshipped as “Kunjithapatham”? Is it not the left leg that kicks Lord Yama and grants immortality? Maybe that is the reason Periyava chose left leg.

Srimathi Kanagamma, who was seeing all this was more terrified than feeling happy. She thought that by pouring water, the impression in the Padhuka might be lost. Also the sandalwood will become a past again and will lose the structure.

But to everyone’s surprise, the padhuka stayed as it was. On seeing this Srimathi Kanagamma was overjoyed. Who else could do such wonders other than Periyava? On 30-1-1990, the padhuka was installed in a grand manner and regular Pooja is being performed to this day.

An amazing darshan

A Periyava devotee, who was living in East Tambaram with her husband had a strange habit. Every time she went for Periyava’s darshan, she will be reminded of an amazing darshan she had when she was a kid. This prevented her from talking to Periyava or asking for some wish. During 1977 – 1980, when she was living in Chinna Kanchipuram, she used to visit Thenambakkam for Periyava’s darshan. During one of the visits, she was blessed to witness an amazing darshan.

On that particular day, suddenly all the devotees who were present started to chant “Hara Hara Siva Siva” in the direction of Periyava. They also went ahead to witness what was happening. Periyava looked like Shri Nataraja with “Thandam” in His hand and closed eyes. It was as if everyone were having darshan of Lord Shiva dancing like Thillai Nataraja.

Who can forget such a divine darshan? This was the scene she was reminded of every time when she visited Periyava and prevented her from asking anything to Him. Such is the experience of this devotee.

Nayanmar’s divine blessings

Just like how Periyava blessed two devotees, one with Sandalwood Padhuka and the other with Kunjitha padham, 64^th Nayanmar Shri Pradosham Mama was blessed in a very special way through the holy feet of Periyava.

It was the first day of Chithirai month and a huge number of devotees had come for Periyava darshan. There were so many devotees, that it looked like Periyava will bless all of them with His vision only. That was the day when Pradosham Mama was blessed specially.

Periyava’s holy feet which is the golden feet of Lord Shiva, the lotus feet of the Lord, the feet that travelled throughout the country, the feet that can cure every one of their sorrows, rested on Pradosham Mama’s head on that blessed day.

When the devotees who had witnessed this event felt blessed, how can we describe the happiness of Shri Pradosham Mama? There was one more instance where Shri Pradosham Mama was blessed in the exact same way, thereby Periyava confirmed that Mama was none other than the 64^th Nayanmar.

This incident reminds us of the similar blessings that Shri Appar received at Thirunallur, when Lord Shiva rested his feet on Appar’s head.

When we surrender ourselves at the holy feet of Periyava, we are reminded of Shri Pradosham Mama’s bhakthi and both of these will bless everyone with all the happiness and peace.
