பெரியவா  சரணம்

திரு   சாருகேசி  அவர்கள்   எழுதிய   ‘காமகோடி பெரியவா’   என்ற   புத்தகத்திலிருந்து….

மஹா பெரியவாளுடன்    பல    இடங்களுக்கும்   போய்   பெரியவாளுக்கு    ஆசை ஆசையாய்   பணிவிடைகள்   செய்பவர்    பட்டாபி அவர்கள்..   அவர்   கூறுகிறார்.

பெரியவாளோட   குரு   மகாதேவேந்திர சரஸ்வதி    சுவாமிகள்   ஆராதனை,  ஷஹாபாத்   நகரின்   நதிக்கரையில்   நடந்தது.  அந்த   ஆராதனையை   ‘குரு ஆராதனை’  ன்னு   சொல்லுவா.

பெரியவா    எங்கே   இருந்தாலும்   அங்கே   இந்த   குரு ஆராதனை   கோலாகலமாக    நடக்கும்.    அப்படி   நடக்கிறதுக்கு    காரணம்,   அதுக்கெல்லாம்   இன்சார்ஜ்   மாதிரி  இருந்த   மேட்டூர் ராஜகோபால் தான்.

ஒரு   குறையும்   இல்லாமல்,  ஆராதனை  சம்பிரதாயப்படி    நடக்க   சகல   ஏற்பாடுகளையும்   அவர்   செய்து   கொடுத்திடுவார்.

குரு  ஆராதனைனா   நிறைய   வேலைகள்   இருக்குமில்லையா?   தட்சிணை,  வேஷ்டி   எல்லாம்   எடுத்துக்   கொடுக்க,   ராஜகோபாலுக்கு    ஒத்தாசை   செய்வேன்.

ஆராதனை   முடிஞ்சப்புறம்,   சாயங்காலம்   அனுஷ்டானம்    செய்தா பெரியவா.    அது   ஆனவுடனே,   ராஜகோபாலைக்    கூப்பிட்டா.   ‘ஒரு  ஜோடி   வேஷ்டியும்,   101  பணமும்   எடுத்துண்டு  வா’ ன்னார்   அவர் கிட்டே.

அவர்   எடுத்துண்டு   வந்ததும்,   அதை வாங்கி,  ‘இது   குருவோட   பிரசாதம்.  நீ என்னிக்கும்  க்ஷேமமா   இருப்பே!’ என்று   எனக்கு   ஆசிர்வாதம்    செய்துக்   கொடுத்தார்.

சந்தோஷத்துல    எனக்கு    என்ன   செய்யறதுன்னே   தெரியலே!    குருவோட    பிரசாதம்கிறது   எத்தனைப் பாக்கியம்!    அதைப்    பெரியவா,  தாமாகவே    என்னைக்    கூப்பிட்டுக்  கௌரவிக்கிற    மாதிரி   அல்லவா   கொடுத்திருக்கிறார்!

‘தடுத்தாட் கொள்வது ‘ன்னு    ஒரு    வார்த்தைப்   பிரயோகம்   இருக்கு.   பகவான்,   பக்தனைக்   தடுத்தாட்    கொள்வார்.   குரு   சிஷ்யனைத்   தடுத்தாட்  கொள்வார்.

அது   மாதிரி   பிரபுவான   பெரியவா,  என்னைத்   தடுத்தாட்  கொண்டார்.  என்கிட்டே   விளையாடினார் :  லீலை  செய்தார்னு   தான்   சொல்வேன்.  இப்போ   கூட,  பெரியவா   என்  தலையை    அவரோட   தண்டத்தால்   தொட்டு,   ஆசிர்வாதம்   செய்ற  மாதிரி  தோண்றது.

ரிஷிகேஷத்துல,   கங்கையில்  ஸ்நானம்   செய்துட்டு,  தினமும்   சஹஸ்ர   காயத்ரி   செய்வேன்.   ஆனா   மனசை   ஒரு நிலைப் படுத்த  முடியாது.   ஏன்னா,  கங்கைக்குன்னு   ஒரு  வீரியம் இருக்கு.   அது   மனசைத்   தன்னோட வசத்துல   இழுக்கும்.

‘நீ   செத்துப்   போற   வரைக்கும்   காயத்ரியையும்,  கங்கா சஹஸ்ர  காயத்ரியையும்   விடாதே! ‘ ன்னு   என்கிட்டே    ஒரு   முறை  சொன்னா   பெரியவா.

அதை    இன்னிய   வரைக்கும்   விடாம  காப்பாத்திண்டு    வர்றேன்.   அதுக்கும்   ஒரு   சக்தி    இருக்கில்லையா?  அது   என்னைக்   காப்பாத்திண்டு   வரது. ”

இதைக்   சொல்லும்   போது,   பட்டாபி கண்களில்   லேசாக   நீர்  தளும்புகிறது.

Sri. Pattabi used to accompany Maha Periyavaa during his travel and used to wishfully render his services to Periyavaa. Following are Sri. Pattabi’s words…

“Maha Periyavaa’s Guru, MahaDevendra Saraswati Swami’s Aradhana called as “Guru Aradhana”, happened in the banks of river of Shahabad town.

Wherever Periyavaa was, the Guru Aradhana function would happen there with great fervor. The reason for those grand happening was the person who was incharge – Mettur Rajagopal.

He will ensure to make all the arrangements so that the Guru Aradhana happens according to the traditions without any shortcomings. There would be many activities in the Guru Aradhana. I will help Rajagopal for handing over the offerings and veshti’s.

In the evening, after the Aradhana was over, Periyavaa performed his usual rituals. After that Periyavaa called Rajagopal and said “Get a pair of veshti and Rs.101”. Once Rajagopal got them, Periyavaa gave them to me and blessed as “This is Guru’s Prasadam. You will be always safe and healthy”.

I was so happy and didn’t know what to do. What a blessing is it to receive Guru’s Prasadam! And that too Periyavaa Himself called me and gave it to me as a way of honoring me!

There is a phrase in Tamizh as “Thaduthaatkolvathu (தடுத்தாட் கொள்வது)”. God does that to His devotees and a Guru does that to His disciples. Periyavaa did that to me. He played with me and performed his Leelai. Even now, I feel like Periyavaa is touching my head with his Staff (Dhandam) and blessing me.

In Rishikesh, I used to take bath in Ganga and chant Sahasra Gayatri. But I wouldn’t be able to focus and concentrate. Because Ganga has a vigor and she will pull your mind towards Her.

Periyavaa once told me ‘Don’t leave Ganga and Sahasra Gayatri till you die’. I have been doing that ever since without fail. It has its own power and that’s what is saving me till date.”

When Sri. Pattabi tells this, tears well up in his eyes.
