தொழிலையொட்டி ஏற்பட்டது வர்ண தர்மம்; ஒருத்தர் எந்த தசையிலிருக்கிறாரென்பதையொயட்டி ஏற்பட்டது ஆச்ரம தர்மம். இரண்டையும் சேர்த்து “வர்ணாச்ரம”ங்களைப் பொறுத்து ஆசாரங்கள் ஏற்பட்டிருப்பதாகச் சொல்கிறோம். இது invidious discrimination -ஆக [பக்ஷபாதமாக]ப் பண்ணினதே அல்ல. அவனவனையும் அவனுடைய நிலையிலிருந்தே உயர்த்திக் கொண்டு போகவும், அதே சமயம் ஸமூஹம் பூராவையும் சீராக அபிவிருத்தி பண்ணிக் கொண்டு போகவுமே இப்படி, யாரைவிட அறிவிலும் பூததயையிலும் பெரியவர்கள் இல்லையோ அப்படிப்பட்ட ரிஷிகள் சாஸ்திரங்கள் மூலமாக ஏற்படுத்தியிருக்கிறார்கள். நம் மதத்தின் யுகாந்தரமான ஜீவசக்திக்கும் இதுவே உயிர் நிலையாயிருந்திருக்கிறது. – ஜகத்குரு ஸ்ரீ சந்திரசேகரேந்திர சரஸ்வதி ஸ்வாமிகளின் அருள் மொழிகள்

Varna Dharma is based upon the division of labor and Ashrama Dharma that depends upon the stage of life in which one is placed. We state that Aacharam has been formulated taking into consideration Varnashramam, combining the two. This is not an invidious discrimination.
