மறந்துபோன நிலையில்கூட, ‘வேதம் மறந்ததால் பரவாயில்லை, அந்த மறந்த நிலை அப்படியே நீடித்துவிட்டுப் போகட்டும்; பிராம்மணன் ஆசாரத்தோடே இருந்து விட்டால் அதுவே போதும்’ என்கிறாரா திருவள்ளுவர்? இல்லை. வேதத்தை மறந்தவன் அதை மறுபடியும் கற்றுக்கொள்ள வேண்டும் என்றே சொல்கிறார் திருவள்ளுவர். ‘மறப்பினும், ஓத்துக் கொளல் ஆகும்’, அதாவது, மறுபடி கற்றுக்கொள்ள முடியும் என்கிறார். முடிகிற விஷயமென்றால் அப்படிப் பண்ணவேண்டுமென்பதே உள்ளர்த்தம். மறையை மறந்தவன் மறையை மறந்தாலும் குலாசாரத்தை மறவாமல் பின்பற்றிக் கொண்டு, பிறகு மறந்துபோன மறையையும் மீண்டும் கற்றுக்கொள்ள வேண்டும் என்று பரம சாஸ்திரீயமாக, ஸநாதன நெறிப்படி திருவள்ளுவர் நினைத்து உபதேசம் பண்ணியிருக்கிறார். இதிலிருந்து முதலில் சொன்னாரே, ஒருவனின் உயர்ந்த ஒழுக்கத்தை வைத்தே ஒருத்தனுக்குக் குடிமை – உயர்குடித் தன்மை-என்றாரே, அதற்கும் ஸோஷலிஸமாக இல்லாமல் சாஸ்திரபூர்வமான அர்த்தத்தைப் புரிந்து கொள்ளலாம். – ஜகத்குரு ஸ்ரீ சந்திரசேகரேந்திர சரஸ்வதி ஸ்வாமிகளின் அருள் மொழிகள்

Does Thiruvallur state  that it is enough if a Brahmin leads a virtuous life of Aacharam and if he has forgotten the Vedas, he can continue to be in that state? No. He states that in such a situation the Vedas have to be learnt again and it is possible to do so. When he declares that it is possible to learn the Vedas again, the underlying meaning is that they have to be learnt again. Thiruvalluvar has preached according to the ancient Sanatana dharma and even if a Brahmin forgets the Vedas, he should not give up his Aacharam, but at the same time he should learn the Vedas again.
