Long back a group of researchers had written that they tested the waters of Ganges collected from the place where the dead body of a cholera victim had been dragged into. They wanted to know the reasons why the Hindus eulogize Ganga. They were stunned to find that the waters did not contain any cholera virus! One is glad to read this report. But we worship Ganga not merely because She is destroyer of diseases but also a slayer of sins and the earthly bond of samsara. Paapa-Punya (sin and goodwill) and Samsaram-Moksham-Naragam (earthly bondage-enlightenment-hell) cannot be measured by scientific theory or test tubes.
