சாஸ்திரத்தில் எலெக்ட்ரோ மாக்னெடிஸத்தைப் பற்றிச் சொல்லாமல்தான் விட்டிருப்பார்கள். புராணத்தில் பார்த்தால், இதற்குக் கதையும் சொல்லியிருக்கும். வாழாது வாழ்ந்த எவனோ ஒருத்தன் வடக்கே தலை வைத்துக்கொண்டு படுத்திருந்தான், அதனால் அவனுடையே மேன்மையே படுத்துப் போச்சு என்றுதான் கதையில் இருக்குமே தவிர விஞ்ஞான தத்வம் சொல்லியிருக்காது. முன்னேயே சொன்ன மாதிரி ஒரு சுத்தி எத்தனையோ நல்லதற்கு பிரயோஜனப்படுகிறது என்றாலும் அதைக் குழந்தை கையில் கொடுக்கக் கூடாது என்கிற மாதிரி, விஞ்ஞான தத்வங்களையும் அதைப் பிரயோஜனப்படுத்தும் கார்யக் கிரமங்களையும் பொது ஜனங்களுக்குச் சொல்லக் கூடாது என்றேதான் இப்படிப் பண்ணியிருக்கிறது. அந்தப் புராணக் கதையும் நிஜம் என்றே வைத்துக் கொள்ள வேண்டும் என்பதுதான் ஆஸ்திகர் கட்சி. லோகத்துக்குத் தெரிகிற ஸயன்ஸும், அதோடு தத்வமும் கதை புராணங்களும் ஸ்தாபிக்கிற (ஸயன்ஸுக்குத் தெரியாத) ஸத்யமும் சேர்ந்துதான் சாஸ்திரம். – ஜகத்குரு ஸ்ரீ சந்திரசேகரேந்திர சரஸ்வதி ஸ்வாமிகளின் அருள் மொழிகள்

Sastras would not have directly stated about electro magnetic power. But a story would be found in the puranas which would state that a prosperous person had lied down with his head to the North resulting in the decline of his greatness. But the scientific principle would not have been expounded. As I told earlier, even if a hammer has many useful properties, it should not be given to a child. Similarly scientific principles and their application should not be made explicit to the common man and this was the reason behind not revealing the scientific facts. The believers argue that these puranas should be given as much credence as the scientific principles.
