நம் மதத்துக்குப் பெருமையே ஆதியிலிருந்து இங்கேதான் கூட்டங் கூட்டமாக மஹான்களும், ஸாதுக்களும் தோன்றி வந்திருக்கிறார்களென்பதுதான். லோகத்தில் வேறெங்கும் இல்லாத விதத்தில் நம் தேசத்தில் தான் ஆசார அநுஷ்டானங்கள் வெகு கட்டுப்பாட்டுடன் அநுஷ்டிக்கப்பட்டிருக்கின்றன; இங்கேயேதான் லோகத்தில் வேறெங்கேயும் பார்க்க முடியாத அளவுக்கு மஹான்களும் தோன்றியிருக்கிறார்கள் என்பதிலிருந்தே இந்த ஆசார அநுஷ்டானம்தான் சீலத்தின் உயர்வுக்குக் காரணம் என்று தெளிவாகத்தெரிகிறது, இந்த அபிப்ராயத்துக்கு பலமூட்டுவதாகவே பூர்வாசாரங்களை விட்டுவிட்ட சீர்திருத்த இயக்கங்களில் உத்தமர்கள் பெருவாரியாக வரவில்லை என்று பார்க்கிறோம். வைதீக சாஸ்திரங்களில் பெரும்பாலானவற்றை அநுஸரித்து. மற்றவற்றை மட்டும் மாற்றியிருக்கிற ஸம்பிரதாயங்களைப் பார்த்தாலோ இவற்றில் முதல் ஆசார்ய புருஷருக்குப் பிற்பாடும் ஏகப்பட்ட பெரியவர்கள், நிரம்ப யோக்யதையுள்ளவர்களாகவும். பகவானின் அநுக்ரகத்தைப் பிரத்யக்ஷ்மாகப் பெற்றவர்களாகவும், தங்களை ஆச்ரயித்தவர்களுக்கு அநுக்ரஹம் செய்யச் சக்தி வாய்ந்தவர்களாகவும் தோன்றியிருப்பதைப் பார்க்கிறோம். இன்றைக்கும் அவற்றில் நிறைய அனுஷ்டாதாக்கள் இருப்பதையும் பார்க்கிறோம். வாய்ப்பேச்சு என்றில்லாமல் நல்ல கண்டிப்பான அநுஷ்டானம் செய்த ஆயிரக்கணக்கானவர்களின் அநுபவபலம் என்பது, ஒவ்வொரு ஸம்பிரதாயத்திலும் அதன் ஆசாரியரின் நாளிலிருந்து இன்றுவரை தலைமுறை தலைமுறையாக வந்து அவை ஒவ்வொன்றுக்கும் உரமூட்டியிருக்கிறது. தாய்மரத்திலிரந்து கொஞ்சம் பிரிந்தே வந்த விழுதும் அப்புறம் மரமாகி வஜ்ரம் பாய்ந்து உறுதிப்பட்டுவிட்டதைப்போல, இப்போது இந்த ஸம்பிரதாயங்கள் எல்லாவற்றிலுமே அதற்கான ஸமயாசாரமென்பது நன்றாக ஸாரத்துடன் கெட்டிப்பட்டிருக்கிறது. ஸொந்த கன்விக்ஷன் இருக்கிறதா இல்லையா என்பதையே நினைக்காமல், ‘அப்படி நினைக்கிறதே பாபம்; நமக்கென்று ஏற்பட்ட ஸமயாசாரம் இதுதான்; ஒரு அப்பா அம்மாவுக்குப் பிறந்தோமென்றால் அவர்கள் எப்படியிருந்தாலும் அவர்களையே தெய்வமாகக் கொள்வதுபோல, நாம் இந்த ஸம்பிரதாயத்தில் பிறந்து விட்டதால் இதுதான் நமக்கு தெய்வம் மாதிரி’ என்கிற விஸ்வாஸத்துடன், தியாக புத்தியுடன் இவ்வழிகளைப் பின்பற்றினால் முன்னோர்களின் அநுஷ்டான பலம் இன்றைக்கும் இவற்றில் போகிறவர்களைத் காப்பாற்றும். – ஜகத்குரு ஸ்ரீ சந்திரசேகரேந்திர சரஸ்வதி ஸ்வாமிகளின் அருள் மொழிகள்

The greatest glory of our Hindu religion is that it has the unique distinction of many evolved and Divine personalities (Mahans and Sadhus) being born in its fold. Ours is the only country where rituals and the code of conduct have been adhered to strictly. This country has also given birth to the maximum number of spiritually great people compared to other nations of the world and it is clear that it is the strict observance of the virtuous rules of conduct (Aacharam) which has yielded this noble result. The fact that such a number of great men have not appeared in the reformist movements lend credence to this opinion. When we study those religious movements which have retained most of the Vedic traditions while effecting changes to the few, we find that many great men have appeared after the founding fathers of these movements, who are virtuous and blessed by Bhagawan. They have the capacity to bless those who surrender to them. Even today we can see, in those religious sects, many who follow these traditions strictly and the adherence to the traditions by thousands, who do not confine themselves to mere talk, through the generations has lent a certain strength and enriched these movements. Like the branch of the tree which has acquired strength of its own after being separated from the main tree, all these religious movements have taken a firm shape with many strong traditions of their own. Instead of analyzing whether one is convinced of the tradition in which one is born, one should realize that thinking so is in itself a sin. In the same manner that one worships one’s parents however they may be, the religious tradition in which one was born should be worshipped with a sense of loyalty and sacrifice and should be followed.
