Cauvery Pushkaram Sep.12 th To Sep 24th 2017

Dear  Devotees,

According to Cauvery puranam, Cauvery river is the most sacred river. Ganga and other sacred rivers comes to Mayiladuthurai during Thula month (Iyppasi) to get rid of their Paapam.

We are happy to inform you that both Periyavas His Holiness Pujya Sri Jayendra Periyava and His Holiness Pujya Sri Vijayedra Periyava are going to inaugurate the function of Cauvery Pushkaram 2017 at Thiruvayaru on 21^st March @ 5 pm.

As all of you are aware this year Guru Peyarchi , Guru moves from Kanni Rasi to Thula Rasi.  Sep. 12^th to Sep. 24^th is Cauvery Pushkaram. Cauvery Rasi is Thula Rasi. That too this Cauvery Pushkaram is after 144 years occuring two pushkarams Sep.12^th to Sep. 24^th 2017 is Adhi pushkaram and Sep.30^th to Oct.1 th 2018 is Andhima Pushkaram.

With the blessings of our Periyavas and Adheenams, Organising committee was formed in the name of Cauvery Pushkaram Mayiladuthurai Charitable trust to organize mainly at Thulakattam in Mayiladuthurai and in other places in a grand manner. Swamiji Ramanandha, all India Thuraviyar Sangam is the President of this trust. One of the service minded person Mr. Muthukumaraswamy is Secretary and I am the coordinator for public, Govt., and religious people for smooth operation of the function.

Concerned Ministers, Nagapattinam Collector and Govt. team are fully supported to organise the function well.

Various activities like Varuna Japam, Berjanya shanthi japamand Kaareeri Ishty Japam are planned initially in Six places to get rain. Mr. Sitaraman Mayiladuthurai and Mr. Narayanan, kumbakonam are incharge for Vedhic related activities.

Mr. Thiagappa Deekshidar (The Deekshidar who was inchare for Chidambaram Natarajar kumbabishekam) is organizing vedic activities during all pushkaram days.

To start wit Varuna Japam, Berjanya shanthi japam and Kaareeri Ishty japam organised at Thiruvaiyaru on 21^st March 2017 at Pushpa Padithuarai. Thiruvaiyaru is the place where lot of songs sung by Nalvar to get more rain. Adheenam from Dharmapuram, Thiruvaduthurai, Velakurichi, Thirupananthal, Suriyanar Kovil are also will be participating the function and blesses us.

This pushkaram is important for all the rasis. All the people have to take bath to get rid of their Paapam and attain more Punniyam. It is said that it is advisable to do Pariharam Shanthi  for Kanya rasi, Thula rasi, Virchiga rasi during the period of Pushkaram. Next Mesham, Mithunam and Meena Rasi devotees also can do Pariharam.

Both Periyavas and Adheenams will be visiting Maha Periyava temple at Bawasamy Agraharam, Annasamy Bhagawathar Illam. This temple was constructed by Sri Sundar Raman, grand son of Sri Annasamy Bhagawathar, three years back.
