Two priority veda kainkaryams

Sri Halasyam Sundaram Iyer is one of the popular person in FB among Periyava devotee. A staunch Mahaperiyava devotee, good friend of RightMantra Sundar, has been doing lot of vedapatasala kainkaryams. Recently we got connected and talking about kainkaryams.

He brought few topics for discussion. (1) Life Insurance coverage for vaideekas (2) Medical support for vidyarthis in remote places with no access to physicians. I am not going to talk about the life insurance topic as that would require lot of discussions, and a very large effort to make it work. While this topic looks very important, it demands equal amount of commitment and understanding from vaideekas to make this work in their interest – it isn’t easy. It often pains to see a family suffering due to the loss of a vaideeka. I also understand that such coverages already exist and some have already adopted this….Let us park this topic for sometime and revisit later.

Look at this video…You will see very very young children (vidyarthis) beautifully chanting Taitriya Upanishad- dont know where this was recorded. Imagine these children staying away from their parents for the veda and being by themselves. Also think about how much we pamper our teenage boys at home – treating them like babies. Now imagine how the mothers of these children would feel at home while them staying in vedapatasala for a very long time. These children get to see their parents once in a while. While the vidyapakar’s family takes care of these children – yet, nothing would match the love of their mother – being fed by her, hugged by her etc.

Look at the other photo, where that boy is holding his new brother for the first time probably! This is not an ordinary sacrifice – something beyond words. When we step outside the house, we send 10 messages to our spouses and that is how we are connected. In such a world, we have these divine children staying away from their moms – isn’t the greatest sacrifice these kids are doing? Isn’t taking care of them our responsibility? We’ve read 100s of articles on Mahaperiyava & vidyarthis.

If I am not mistaken, all these photos and videos were shared by Sri Sundaram…

Sundaram mentioned about few patajsalas that are in remote places where there are do immediate access to doctors. He suggested and looking for some doctors (with service mind) who could visit these patajsalas once a month or so to check on these children and treat them for some basic needs. Obviously anything that would require more than basic needs has to be taken to a clinic etc. This service would tremendously help these children. I requested him to send me the list of such patajsalas. He mentioned one near Kumbakonam and Thanjavur. If you are a physician or know a physician near these places who are interested in doing this as a service, please contact Sri Sundaram at nhsiyer@gmail.com or me at mk.netid@gmail.com. By doing this service, you become Mahaswami’s most favorite devotee.

Stay tuned for more details on this blog on this….Once we have the list of patajsalas that require medical support, will share more….

Thank you Sri Sundaram for this info and hats off to you and your team for relentless service to veda patajsalas…

Hara Hara Sankara Jaya Jaya Sankara!

  7. I am moved by the condition of need for regular medical attention for these great souls who are following the good words of a great Sanyasi in Mahaswami……….I live in Madras…..I am not a doctor….If only I was one I would have certainly taken the right decision to relocate to these remotes of Vedapatasals…..But I still can be of use by being with them and their need by providing a standing transport for them to be taken to a doctor nearby and bring them back to the Patasala…

  8. His services are great. I sincerely according the hard work done by him to various Vedha paadasalas.

    • பெரியவா சரணம். நான் ஒன்றும் பண்ணலை சார். எல்லாம் பெரியவா பண்ண வைக்கிறார்.

  9. Yes Halasya Sundaram Iyer work goes unnoticed. Field work many people are there. Invariably ayurveda doctors will participate. Allopathic doctors will not be interested.
Halasya Sundaram Iyer alone can’t do this. He has sincere group of ten people minimum. But his passion for kainkaryam is second to none.

But I don’t approve of helping Arthur padasala and thanjavur padasala alone.

If asked my opinion whenever and wherever possible such help can be done by all, even to individuals in need.

21st century will Register Halasya Sundaram Iyer for his periyava kainkaryam

    • //But I don’t approve of helping Arthur padasala and thanjavur padasala alone.// என்னுடைய ஆசை அனைத்து பாடசாலை வேத வித்யார்த்திகளுக்கும் மருத்துவ வசதி வேண்டும் என்பதே.
