மற்ற மதங்கள் பல தேவதை ப்ரீதியைச் சொல்லவில்லையாதலால் அவர்களுக்கு ஒரே ஈச்வரனிடம் பிடிப்பு நன்றாக உண்டாகிறது என்பது வாதமாக மட்டுமே நிற்கிறதே ஒழிய, வாஸ்தவத்தில் அப்படி அவர்களில் அதிகம் பேருக்கு ஈச்வராநுபவம் உண்டாகாமல் அவர்களும் திண்டாடிக் கொண்டிருக்கிறார்களென்பதுதான் பிரத்யக்ஷமாகப் பார்ப்பது. அவர்களில் இருப்பதைவிட நம்மில்தான் ஜாஸ்தி மஹான்கள் தோன்றியிருக்கிறார்கள். இப்போதும் இருக்கிறார்கள் என்றும் அவர்களே சொல்லவும் சொல்கிறார்கள். இதனால் எனக்கு இன்னொன்றுகூடக் கொஞ்சம் வேடிக்கையாகத் தோன்றுகிறது.
பெரிய ஸ்வயநலம், தன்னலம் எது? தனக்கு உண்டாகக்கூடிய பெரிய நன்மை எது? பரமாத்மாவைச் சேருவதுதானே? “எத்தனை தேவதைகளும், பித்ருக்களும் இருந்தாலும் ஸரி, எனக்கு அவை ஒன்றும் வேண்டாம்; நீதான் வேண்டும், அவையெல்லாமும் உன் ஸ்ருஷ்டிதானே? அவற்றுக்கு என்ன தேவை இருந்தாலும் அதைப் பூர்த்தி பண்ணவேண்டியது உன் பொறுப்புத்தான். மரம் வைத்த நீதான் தண்ணி விடணும். விடு, விடாமல் பொ, அது உன் கார்யம். எனக்கு தேவதையும் வேண்டாம், பித்ருக்களும் வேண்டாம். உன்னைத்தான் பிடித்துக் கொள்கிறேன். அதற்காக அவை கோபித்துக்கொண்டு என்னைக் கஷ்டப்படுத்தினவென்றால் அது உனக்குத்தான் அவமானம். எல்லாவற்றுக்கும் மேலேயிருக்கிற உன்னை நான் பிடித்துக் கொள்கிறேன் என்பதற்காக ஏதோ குட்டி சக்திகள் என்ன ஹிம்ஸை பண்ணி, நீ பேசாமல் இருந்தால் அது உனக்குத்தான் அபக்யாதி’ – என்றிப்படி எல்லாரையும் நினைக்கச் சொல்லி நம் மதம் நம்முடைய பெரிய ஸ்வயநலத்தை மட்டும் கவனித்திருக்கலாம். ஆனாலும் ஸ்வயநல மதம் என்று சொல்லப்படுகிற இதுதான், இவன் ஒரே பரமாத்மாவைப் பிடித்துக்கொள்வதில் உள்ள ஐகாக்ரியம் [ஒருமுக சிந்தனை] என்கிற உத்தமமான ஸ்திதி சிதறிப்போகும்படியாகப் பல தேவ-பித்ரு கர்மாக்களைக் கொடுத்து ஸ்வயநலத்தைத் தியாகம் பண்ண வைத்து, கண்ணுக்குத் தெரியாத சின்னச் சின்ன சக்திகளுக்கும் இவனைப் பரோபகாரம் பண்ண வைக்கிறது. இப்படி இவன் தியாகமும் பரோபகாரமும் செய்வதனாலேயே பகவான் இவனை மெச்சி இவனுக்கு இதர மதங்களிலிருப்பவர்களுக்கு முன்னாள் ஞானத்தை அநுக்ரஹித்து விடுகிறான். அதனால்தான் இந்த மதத்திலேயே ஜாஸ்தி மஹான்களும் ஞானிகளும் பக்த சிரேஷ்டர்களும் தோன்றுகிறார்கள் – என்று தோன்றுகிறது. இன்னொரு தினுஸாகச் சொல்வதென்றால் அது ஸமூஹத்தில் பெரும்பாலோர் இப்படிப் பரமாத்மாவைத் ‘தியாகம்’ பண்ணிவிட்டுக் குட்டி சாமி பூதப் படைகளைப் பிரீதி பண்ணுகிற பரோபகார புண்யத்துக்காகத்தான் இந்த மதத்திலேயே “சிறு தெய்வம் சேரேன்” என்று அவனையே பிடித்துக் கொள்ளும் மஹான்களையும் பரமாத்மா நிறையப் படைக்கிறார்! – ஜகத்குரு ஸ்ரீசந்திரசேகரேந்திர சரஸ்வதி ஸ்வாமிகளின் அருள்மொழிகள்
The argument that other religions create a firmer attachment with the One God they project because they do not prescribe worship of different divine beings, remains just that- only an argument because the actual reality is different. Many of the people belonging to other religions are struggling without having experienced God. More evolved souls have appeared among the followers of our religion and continue to do so. This is stated by the followers of the other religions themselves. When I observe this a humorous thought occurs to me. What can be the height of selfishness? What is the greatest good that can happen to one? Can anything be more valuable than attaining the feet of the Supreme Divine? “However numerous Divine Beings or ancestors (Pithrus) there may be, I do not need any of them. I desire only you. After all, they are all your creations. It is your duty as their creator to fulfill whatever desires they may have. It is your responsibility. You may fulfill it or not. I do not need the Devathas or Pithrus. I need only you. If they make me suffer for this attitude, it reflects negatively only upon you. If the subservient creatures harass me only because I attach myself to you- their superior, it only shows you in a poor light.” Our religion could have taught us to think like this selfishly. But it has not. It is this so called “selfish” religion which by motivating us to perform philanthropy to even the miniscule, invisible creatures makes us to sacrifice our self interests and in the process even distracts us from the sublime state of unwavering concentration on the Supreme divine. It is this spirit of sacrifice and philanthropy that Bhagawan appreciates and blesses one with enlightenment even before persons from the other religions attain it. I feel this is the reason that there are more evolved souls in our religion than in the others. In other words, it is only because of the action of the majority in serving the minor Gods (devathas) by sacrificing the worship of the Paramathma or the Supreme Divine that God has blessed this religion with many an evolved soul who has surrendered himself at the feet of the Paramathma, ignoring the lesser Gods. – Jagadguru Sri Chandrasekharendra Saraswathi Swamigal
