ஏக பரமாத்மாதான் இத்தனை வித ஜீவராசிகளாகவும் தேவதைகளாகவும், இவற்றைப் பூஜை பண்ணும் மநுஷ்யர்களாகவும் ஆகியிருப்பதை நம் மதம் திருப்பித் திருப்பித் சொல்லிக் கொண்டுதானிருக்கிறது. இந்த நினைப்பு அடியோடு துண்டித்துவிடக் கூடாதென்றுதான் எந்த தேவதையை வழிபட்டாலும் அதுவே ஸ்வாமி என்கிற மாதிரி ஸர்வ சக்தி, ஸச்சிதானந்த ஸ்வரூபம் என்றெல்லாம் சொல்வது. அந்த தேவதைக்கே ‘நான் பரமாத்மா’ என்பது தெரியாமலிருந்தாலுங்கூட, நாம் அது பரமாத்மா என்பதை முழுக்க மறந்து போய்விடக்கூடாது என்பதே தாத்பர்யம். அதாவது “பல சாமி” இல்லை – ஒரே ஸ்வாமியைத்தான் ஒவ்வொரு ரூபத்துக்குள்ளும் அந்தர்யாமியாக நினைக்கிற பாவமே இது. எந்த தேவதையும் பரமாத்மாவின் ரூபமே என்றாலும், இதை மறக்காமல் நினைப்பூட்டிக் கொண்டாலும், அதை ஒரு தனி தேவதையென்றே அதற்குரிய வழிபாட்டால்தான் உபாஸிக்க வேண்டும் என்று நம் மதம் சொல்கிறது. ஏனிப்படி என்று கேட்டால் – மநுஷ்யர்கள் மட்டும் யார்? அவர்களும் பரமாத்மாவின் ரூபங்கள்தானே? மத நம்பிக்கையில்லாத பொதுத் தொண்டுக்காரர்கள்கூட மக்களுக்குச் செய்வதே மஹேசனுக்காகும் என்கிறார்களே! இப்படி எல்லாரும் ஒரே ஈச்வரன் என்றாலும் அவர்களுக்கான ஸேவை அவரவர்களைத் தனி மநுஷ்யர்களென்று வைத்து, ஒவ்வொருவரின் தேவையை அநுஸரித்துத்தானே பண்ண வேண்டியதாயிருக்கிறது? வியாதியஸ்தனுக்கு சிகித்ஸை, அதிலும் இன்ன வ்யாதிக்காரனுக்கு இன்ன சிகித்ஸை, உத்யோகமில்லாதவனுக்கு வேலை, படிப்பில்லாதவனுக்கு படிப்பு, பசித்தவனுக்கு அன்னம் என்று வித்யாஸமாகத்தானே பரோபகாரம் பண்ணுகிறோம்? இவ்வாறே தேவதைகளிலும் ஒன்றொன்றின் தனி ரூபத்துக்கும் எந்தவிதமான ஆராதனை உரியதோ அந்தப்படித்தான் செய்ய வேண்டும். ஆனாலும் எல்லாம் பரமாத்மா என்பதையும் முழுக்க மறந்து விடக்கூடாது. – ஜகத்குரு ஸ்ரீசந்திரசேகரேந்திர சரஸ்வதி ஸ்வாமிகளின் அருள்மொழிகள்

Our religion emphasizes again and again that only One Supreme Divine has manifested itself as different living beings, beings like Devathas and the human beings who worship them. This is the reason that whenever any Divine Force is worshipped that force is considered as God, the All Powerful, Ever Blissful Ultimate Truth. Even if that Devatha is unaware that He or She is a manifestation of the Paramathma, we should not forget it. This is the purpose behind the worship of the various Gods in the pantheon. In other words, there are no different Gods; there is only one God inherent in every form. Even if we do not forget that every Devatha is Paramaathma Swaroopam, our religion specifies a distinct form of worship to each one of them. The reason can be explained thus: human beings themselves are manifestations of God. Even atheists declare that service to mankind is equivalent to service to God. So the need of each person is unique and it is fulfilled accordingly though all have the divine spark in them- medicine for the sickly, different treatments for different illnesses, employment for the unemployed, education for the uneducated and food for the hungry.  The nature of our philanthropy differs from person to person.
