Jaya Jaya Sankara Hara Hara Sankara – Below mentioned ‘Vaisavadevam’ Samskara has been explained in Deivathin Kural. As part of our daily duty, apart from feeding humans we also need to satisfy Deva, Rishi, Pithru and other animals which helps to clear many of our doshams.
Many Jaya Jaya Sankara to Smt. Gayathri for the share. Ram Ram
Experiences with Maha Periyava: The disease and its root
A devotee told Sri Maha Periyava that he was suffering from persistent stomach ache.
He was advised to do vaisvadevam (food offering done according to rules in Agama Dharma, one of the samskaras or religious duties) every day, offer the rice so cooked according to scriptural injunctions to a guest and then eat his food. He did as advised and was cured of his incurable stomach ache.
Periyava told him, “If possible, do Annadanam for a hundred or thousand people in some Kshetra (holy place).”
The devotee went to Guruvayur and organised Annadanam at the Guruvayurappan temple.
‘Noi Nadi, Noi Mudal Nadi’*–Valluvar says. The Noi Mudal is actually paapa (sin). Our Periyava is the parihara chikitsa shiromani (expert remedial medical specialist) who seeks the root and destroys it completely!
