நாம் எங்கேயோ ஒரு பீச்சுக்குப் போகிறோம்; அல்லது ஸினிமாவுக்குப் போகிறோம். கண்டதை நினைத்துக்கொண்டு அரட்டை அடித்துக் கொண்டுதான் போகிறோம். ஆனால் போகிற வழியில் ஏதாவது ஒரு ஸத்ஸங்கத்திலிருந்து ”ஹர ஹர மஹாதேவா”, ”ஹரே ராம ஹரே ராம ராம ராம ஹரே ஹரே” என்கிற மாதிரி ஒரு கோஷம் வந்தால் சட்டென்று நம்முடைய கன்னாபின்னா நினைப்புப்போய், பகவந்நாமா க்ஷணகாலம் மனஸுக்குள் போய் நம்மைக் கொஞ்சம் உருக்கி விடுகிறது. நாமாவுக்கு அப்படி ஒரு சக்தி இருக்கிறது. ஆனதால் வாழ்க்கைப் போராட்டத்தின் முடிவிலே ஒரு ஜீவாத்மா உயிருக்காகப் போராடிக் கொண்டு மனஸ் நாலா திசையிலும் அலை பாய்கிறபோது, அல்லது ஸ்மரணை தப்பிக் கொண்டிருக்கிறபோது பக்கத்திலே இருக்கிறவர்கள் பகவந்நாமாவை கோஷித்துக்கொண்டிருந்தால் அது அந்த ஜீவாத்மாவை அதன்மூலமான பரமாத்மாவிடம் இழுப்பதற்கு ரொம்பவும் சக்திகரமான (effective) வழியாக இருக்கும். ஒருத்தன் எத்தனை துன்மார்க்கத்தில் போனவனாயிருந்தாலும், அந்தக் கடைசி நாழியில் இந்த ஸம்ஸாரத்திலிருந்து தப்புவதற்கு பகவானைப் பிடித்துக் கொள்ளத் தவிக்கத்தான் செய்வான். அவனுக்குத் தானாக அந்தத் தாபம் வராவிட்டால்கூட நாம் உண்டாக்கிச் தந்து விட்டால் பிடித்துக் கொண்டு விடுவான். இப்படித்தான் எனக்குத் தோன்றுகிறது. – ஜகத்குரு ஸ்ரீசந்திரசேகரேந்திர சரஸ்வதி ஸ்வாமிகளின் அருள்மொழிகள்

When we take a trip to a beach or cinema we indulge in all sorts of meaningless chatter.  But on our away, if we suddenly happen to hear some Divine chants from a Sathsanga nearby, we are moved in spite of us and our thoughts turn to Bhagawan, at least for a moment. Bhagawan Nama has such a power. At the fag end of the life’s struggle, when the soul is about to depart, the mind is swayed in all directions; sometimes the consciousness is lost. At such a juncture, if the people around this person chant the name of Bhagawan, it will be an effective way of pulling the mind back to the thought of the Divine. However bad a person had been, in his final moments, he will yearn for Bhagawan to escape from the vicious cycle of birth and death called samsaraa. Even if this longing does not spring automatically into his heart, if we show him a glimpse of it, he will firmly cling to it.
