Another rare video of Periyava

Thanks Hariharan for the video….In the 2nd part of the video, where Periyava is walking – what a majesty with holding the dhandam in one hand and what a speed at 91 years old! Walking in the road with one falling-apart made-shift rickshaw with handful of people who do kainkaryams and He chose to walk 1000s of kms and this clipping shows that He is walking amidst showers on the road….

I believe this video was shot by someone who is known to a couple who gets focused a lot in the first part of the video – don’t know who they are.

In the very last minute, there is one sanyasi walks inside an entrance – is that Periyava? The physical description does not look like Him….

Only mahadeva can do all these….

  4. Great and rare video and Divine Dharshan of Maha Periyava. Thanks for sharing. Hara Hara Shankara, Jaya Jaya Shankara!

  5. I am very sure that this video is continuation of the video that was shot at Vellore, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fxeS6YyqewE&feature=youtu.be
The couple were owners of Vijay Rubber. I am a native of Vellore and I rue my chances that I missed back in 84 when Periyava visited. I was a kid about 6 yrs old, my grandparents are also seen in the video shot at Jalakandeshwarar temple, they were lucky to have darshan of our Nadamadum Dheivam. Please keep sharing these rare gems.

  6. The Swamiji in the later part of the video is “Janardananandendra Saraswati” swamigal, also known as avadhAni swamigal. He hailed from Andhra Pradesh. He has composed beautiful poems on Mahaperiyava. Mettur Swamigal and AvadhAni Swamigal used to be discussions all the time, as my memory goes.

I was told later that this Swamiji gave sanyasa dIksha to Mettur Swamigal.
