  1. Hi Mahesh,

There is also an appeal from the Matam on their facebook for contributions to the flood relief. Would be good if you can put it up as a separate post for people to contribute.

  8. Dear Mahesh, Is there a way to send our contributions to the flood related initiatives started by the mutt or Periva bakthas? Any additional details regarrding bank accounts etc would be appreciated.

  9. The same thought crossed my mind. Even in that rain and cold, Srimadam volunteers (staff?) are wearing the thin Dhoti and bare chested distributing food thereby upholding the tradition. What an identity!! It is amazing. It is human spirits at its best. Eyes get teary. Oh Sankara, protect everyone.

  10. In the cold and rain, wading through the water with the srimadam decoram dress code of just a dhothi (i dont know how else o put it) it brings tears of awe for the blessed staff who are doing this kaingaryam.

As VJ rightly says, whoever reads jaja jaya sankara and have that prasadam are blessed souls too..

  11. From being outside of chennai was wondering in what little way we can help. Sri madam blessed souls physically being there and helping is so touching. Food is the main thing. Is there anything else that they might need. Can we contribute in a tiny way for this major initiative during the unheard of catostrophy.

Mahaperiavaa will help us by letting us know how to offer help. I am praying to HIM.

  12. The needy not only got food but also received His blessings. The van bearing the name Sankara itself is enough to get His blessings. Sankara has come to them for help!! What else do they need. From now on their lives will be very much uplifted. Sankara is there to protect them. This is what religions ought to be.
Why we have poverty in the world, we do not have an answer.
