All these are not possible without His blessings – “Avan arulaale avan thaal vanangi”. May Periyava give you so many more years in continuing this great journey of talking about Mahaperiyava Mahatmiyam.

நமஸ்காரம்.
என் குலதெய்வம் ஸ்ரீமதுரகாளி அம்மன் ஆசியாலும், நடமாடும் தெய்வம் காஞ்சி மகா பெரியவா அருளாலும் ஆன்மிகச் சொற்பொழிவு ஆற்றத் துவங்கி மூன்று வருடம் பூர்த்தி ஆகிறது. அதாவது, நான்காவது வருடம் துவங்கப் போகிறது.
2012-ஆம் ஆண்டு செப்டம்பர் மாதம் 12-ஆம் தேதி எனது முதல் ‘மகா பெரியவா மகிமை’ சொற்பொழிவு அமுதசுரபி முன்னாள் ஆசிரியர் கலைமாமணி விக்கிரமன் அவர்களின் ஏற்பாட்டோடு துவங்கியது. ‘அமுதசுரபி’ அல்லவா? அன்றைக்குத் துவங்கியது நன்றாகவே தொடர்ந்து கொண்டிருக்கிறது.
இந்த வருடம் (2015) செப்டம்பர் 12-ஆம் தேதி ஏதேனும் சொற்பொழிவு அமைந்தால் பெரியவா அருளாக இருக்குமே என்று எண்ணினேன். அதன்படி அயோத்யா மண்டப நிகழ்ச்சியே செப்டம்பர் 12-ஆம் தேதி அமைந்தது. உற்சாகமாக இருந்தேன்.
திடீரென அயோத்யா மண்டபத்தில் இருந்து அழைத்து, ‘விநாயகர் சதுர்த்தி வைபவத்துக்காக நிகழ்ச்சி நடத்துபவர்கள் செப்டம்பர் 12-ஐயும் கேட்கிறார்கள். எனவே, உங்களது நிகழ்ச்சியை முதல் நாள் – அதாவது செப்டம்பர் 11-ஆம் தேதி வைத்துக் கொள்ளலாமா?’ என்று கேட்டார்கள். ‘தாராளமாக’ என்று அவர்களுக்கு சம்மதம் தெரிவித்து விட்டேன்.
இருந்தாலும், ‘என்னடாது… செப்டம்பர் 12 நழுவிப் போயிற்றே’ என்று எண்ணினேன்.
என் அருமை நண்பர் வாசன் அவர்கள் (இந்து மகா ஜன சக்தி) இதே தேதியில் மேற்கு மாம்பலம் சங்கர மடத்தில் மகா பெரியவா பற்றிப் பேச முடியுமா என்று அழைப்பு விடுத்தார்.
சந்தோஷத்துடன் சம்மதித்தேன். எல்லாம் பெரியவா கிருபை.
எனது மூன்றாம் வருட சொற்பொழிவு பூர்த்தி தினமான வருகிற செப்டம்பர் 12 அன்று (நிறைந்த அமாவாசை – சனிக்கிழமை) சென்னை மேற்கு மாம்பலம் சங்கர மடத்தில் ‘மகா பெரியவா மகிமை’ சொற்பொழிவு. வெகு விமரிசையாக ஏற்பாடு செய்து வருகிறார் நண்பர் வாசன் அவர்கள்.
அன்றைக்கு அநேகமாக இன்னொரு ஆச்சரியமும் இருக்கிறது.
தீர்மானமானதும் தெரிவிக்கிறேனே… ப்ளீஸ்.

இன்று பட்டி தொட்டி அனைத்தும் பெரியவா பற்றி தெரியச் செய்ததில் பிச்சை ஸ்வாமினாதன் அவர்களுக்கும், கணேச சர்மா அவர்களுக்க்ம் பெரும் பங்குண்டு! பெரியவாளை இவர்கள் சொல்லித்தான் நாட்டிற்கு அறிமுகம் என்ற அர்த்தத்தில் சொல்லவில்லை. பல தெரியாத அற்புதமான அனுபவங்கள் இவர்கள் மூலமாகவே பாமர ஜனங்களுக்குத் தெரியவந்தது என்றால் மிகையில்லை. எளிய நடை, தினம் நம் வாழ்வில் பேசும் லாவகமான பேச்சு..திரும்பத் திரும்ப சொல்லி மனசில் தங்க வைக்கும் உக்தி இதெல்லாம் ஸ்வாமினாதன் அவர்களுக்கு இயற்கை தந்த அருட் ப்ரசாதம்! மேலும் பெரியவா ஆசியுடன் துவங்கிய கலை ! மேலும் சிறக்க பெரியவா கடாக்ஷம்! சங்கரா..
Withoutgetting into controversies, in my experinces on life, such narration of miraclesdo- ovr a long period, tickles hecrass materialisitic individualsto startrealising that therere definitely seems to be a source sat a higherlevel. This the trigger factor..
I wishsome of us listen to Chagandi KoteeswaraRao – a spoeaker par excellence who quotes Maha Periava, SDringeri Gurus etc.

What Sri Sridharan has mentioned in his remarks is absolutely correct , though the words looked a bit sharp.
Its should be understood that any miracle by a saint is just a ‘visiting card’ to His/Her devotee (as mentioned by Saibaba).
I have been blessed to have Darshan of Sri Maha Periyavaa every month, (since 1986) and Bramhasree Pradosham was instrumental for it.
On several such visits to his Griham, Pradosham Mama used to narrate a lot of such incidents (Which he witnessed personally) but said that these were meant only for the ‘close’ circles, to inspire and build devotion in them,
Glorifying these miracles alone which are too personal, does not achieve any positive results, to the general public
So lets try to draw inspiration more from HIS Life and HIS Teachings, which are the biggest Miracles.
That is the best way to live and progress as a Periyavaa-Devotee.

மஹாபெரியவாளை பற்றி நினைக்கக் கூட நமக்கு கொடுப்பினை இருந்தால் தான் முடியும். ஆனால் அவரைப் பற்றியே பேசிக் கொண்டிருக்க வேண்டும் என்பது பெரியவா கொடுத்த வரமாகத்தான் இருக்கும். வாயுள்ள பிள்ளை பிழைக்கும் என்பார்கள். நம் எல்லோருக்கும் இறைவன் வாயை கொடுத்துள்ளான். ஆனால் அந்த வாயை வைத்து நல்லவைகளை நாம் பேசுகிறோமா என்றால் இல்லை என்று தான் சொல்ல வேண்டும். தெய்வத்தின் குரலை ஒரு உபன்யாசமாக சொன்னால் யாரும் சிரத்தையாக கேட்க மாட்டார்கள். இதை நான் பலமுறை பார்த்துள்ளேன். பெரியவா தன்னுடைய பக்தர்களுக்கு அருள் புரிந்ததை கேட்கும் போது அவர் மீது நமக்கு பக்தி அதிகமாகும். மகாபெரியவா தரிசன அனுபவத்தில் கூட கணேச சர்மா பேசும் போதும் சரி, சுவாமிநாதன் சார் பேசும் போதும் சரி பெரியவா கூறிய உபதேசத்தை ஒட்டியே இவர்களுடைய உபன்யாசங்கள் இருக்கும். நன்றாக கேட்டுப் பார்த்தால் தெரியும்/புரியும்.

Best wishes to Sri. P. Swaminathan in continuing to spread among Devotees Maha Periyava’s Greatness. Whatever Maha Periyava did or teach is Amrutham for His Devotees. Sri Ganesa Sarma Maama and Sri. Sivaramanji continue the work at a different elevated level in spreading Maha Periyava’s Life and Teachings and Devotees’ Experiences on Maha Periyava.. What matters is the constant prayerful attitude of surrender to Maha Periyava and the firm conviction that He will take care of us> Hara Hara Shankara, Jaya Jaya Shankara!
With due respect my comments were not about all speakers. While Sri PS and many other speakers certainly indulge in the “tactics” I referred to, there are other speakers like Sri Ganesa Sarma who do not. So if someone seeks to contradict me by giving Sri Ganesa Sarma’s example, it is a wrong approach and a wrong answer for a wrongly interpreted question.
Also I have no issue if Sri PS and speakers like him narrate incidents which are quoted in authentic accounts of Sri Mahaperiyava’s life. What is usually hyped is miracles written in some of the recently published books which again have no authenticity whoever the author is.
All this is leading to crass commercial exploitation of an Avatra Purusha’s name and this is clearly evidenced by the sale of CDs and books of these speakers who have become popular in a matter of few years only.
Very nice discussions….I also consider that many devotees wish to hear again and again about SHRI. Mahaperiava’s karunyam,deeds etc.,as such discourses give tremendous solace. This feeling exists among those who had the privilege of having seen SHRI.Mahaperiava. The other aspect of following up what SHRI.Mahaeriava had relentlessly called for namely promotion of vaideega dharma and Vedic studies need sustained actions.How many of us are doing this….
Thanks to all your wishes and comments. Every upanyasaka has his own style. Each has its own pros and cons. While someone has requested Shri PS to talk some non-miracles too, let me share with you a piece of information. Many ask Sri Ganesha Shama to include more miracles – Sharmaji himself told me this during my last triip! Why? pure vedanta/upadesam is very dry! If someone starts giving you upadesam for more than 10 minutes, we tend to get bored 🙂 We need to have a combination of miracles, upadesams etc to achieve the intended goal “spreading the upadesam and mahatmiyam of Mahaperiyava”. So, while all these inputs are great, please do not sound like we are criticizing or comparing Shri PS with someone else..Like I said, each upanyasakar has captivated so many people in their own way and we need to respect that.

Suggesting that these respected Upanyasakars may include more of Sri Periyava’s teachings in their discourses is a great one. However, I would not jump to using a broad brush in painting unwarranted motives to their behavior.
Since I know a little bit about Bramhasri Ganesh Sharmaji, I feel comfortable in asserting here is a noble soul who has dedicated his entire life style and his family’s life style to the highest form of vedhic existence. He and his family are smilingly facing so many challenges in promoting the highest Dharmic values that Sri Maha Periyava stood for. A list of the great kaingarymas that Bramhasri Ganesh Sharmaji has dedicated himself to and the list of his achievements is way too long. Consistent with Sri Maha Periyava’s teachings, Bramhasri Ganesh Sharmaji chooses not to make public any of his own personal immense sacrifices to promote Sri Maha Periyava’s causes.
The trade-off between getting way too “technical and dry” in their discourses and attracting/appealing to a large majority of prospective viewers to the Maahatmiyam of Sri Maha Periyava is a very tricky one. For instance, I may not be as highly matured as Sri V. Sridharan and I can only be moved by Sri Maha Periyava’s Kaarunyam. So, I only get the comfort from Sri Maha Periyava’s greatness. Then, to attract people like me they face the necessity of making their discourses more reachable by the masses.
If one paid close attention to Bramhasri Ganesha Sharmaji’s lectures, one would understand that the message is far beyond “miracles” – most of Sri Maha Periyavaa’s devotees enjoy hearing again and again about the unlimited (thaayinumm melaana – beyond a mother’s) Kaarunyam of Sri Maha Periyava. If we watch carefully, we would appreciate the emphasis by most of these speakers, and particularly by Bramhasri Ganesha Sharma, is only on such Avyaaja Karunai, the Dharmic conduct, unparalleled Aacharam and Anushtanam, and other personal behavior of Sri Maha Periyava that most of us wish to hear and learn from.
Bramhasri Ganesha Sharma could have continued in his corporate life style, and with his extraordinary qualifications, could have easily earned a very comfortable lifestyle. But for several decades now, he has decided to give up all such materialistic pursuits and dedicated himself to disseminate the Greatness of Sri Maha Periyava – no monthly paychecks, paid holidays, pensions, health care benefits, etc., that come with a corporate life style. The kind of personal sacrifices that these noble individuals have made to promote the highest values which Sri Maha Periyava stood for are not widely publicly known.
After all, how many of Sri Maha Periyava’s devotees have read even one, let alone all the seven volumes, of His Deivathin Kural? If one has, then one would most certainly desist from using such harsh and unjustified words to characterize these selfless souls who have dedicated their entire lives to promote the greatness of Sri Maha Periyava.

Speakers like Sri Swaminathan and others do just that- narrate hair-rising miracles supposed to have happened in Sri Mahaperiyavaa’s life. No basis or references but just engaging narrative in flowery style and sprinkled with hyped phrases.
None of these bother to even mention what Sri Mahaperiyavaa stood for or preached !
Same episodes , if attributed to other godmen -whether Sri Sathya Sai or Nithyananda or whoever would raise the same thrill in listeners minds.
These speakers are just out to co-brand themselves along with Sri Mahaperiyavaa’s life and earn a good living and reputation out of that.
No wonder you find them soon releasing CDs, videos , books of their public speeches thereby adding to their crass commercial exploitation of Sri Mahaperiyavaa’s name.
Congrats to Swaminathan on his noble task.
But my humble request is that all these Upanyasakars should bring out the teachings of Maha Periyavaa in their upanyasams, more than highlighting the ‘Miracles’.
HIS biggest miracles are HIS teachings (Deivathin Kural).
