Periyava’s Wish – Let’s Unite Together in Gho Matha Samrakshanam

– Jaya Jaya Shankara Hara Hara Shankara – Periyava expresses his wish that is pretty much aligned to Pidi Arisi Thittam which he explained in the previous chapter; collecting vegetable waste from various sources and feeding Mother Cow.  Here he explains on the need for Creating Awareness through campaigns and also involve other religions people in doing Gho Seva. Please correct me if I’m wrong, but do not recall Periyava talking about creating awareness on other key topics including Veda Rakshanam or Religious conversion. On these subjects, he advocates us to introspect ourselves, look more inward, and do our anushtanams more sincerely so Veda Rakshanam prospers and religious conversion slows down. This puts creating awareness on Gho Samrakshanam in the right perspective and shows its significance. Can we all do our bit and fulfill Periyava’s Wish? Periyava Thiruvadi Charanam! Ram Ram.

  1. Ram Ram Shri. Vijay – Amazing Dream and Gho Matha in front of your home after you woke up. I’m sure you fed her with something. Periyava Thiruvadi Charanam. Ram Ram!

    • Dear Sri Sai Srinivasan ji, 🙂 – thank you for the wishes… of course, yes, who will miss an opportunity to perform service to Gho mata when she herself has come home 🙂

Actually, my family follows the old tradition which simplifies the pancha yagya in day to day activities – my mom is an ardent follower of Sri Maha Periyavaa and performs the ‘pidi arisi thittam’ punctually every day and my father hands over it to the near by Perumal temple.

She puts koolam with only rice flour and I have personally seen ants, squirrels, crows, sparrows and even Gho mata licking them thoroughly..

We keep the ‘kazha neer’ to her and also give the excess fruits and vegetable waste daily – none of the organic foods go waste in our house – we give it to Gho mata. When we searched for our present house, the land was being grazed by a white cow – so, we never saw Vaasthu for the house – that in itself was a great blessing to us.

I was appalled to know of about the bad shape the male calfs of Gho mata are in several temples – here is a news – seems a german christian organization is saving the calfs – shame on us – lets pray Sri Gho mata, Sri Godha Mata and Sri Maha Periyavaa help us in this cause – http://www.vspca.org/programs/calves.php

Seeking the grace of Sri Maha Periyavaa,

      Thanks and regards,

      P. Vijay

      • Excellent Shri. Vijay. I’m absolutely humbled by you and your family’s deeds. What a way to lead your life. Poorva Janma Sukrutham and Guru Kataksham!!! I pray to Periyava to bless you and your family to continue maintain this very high quality life. As Periyava says the best way of reform is to lead our lives by example rather than doing upadesams. He lived his entire life through out that way. Our current Acharyas are silently and tirelessly following the same principle. Feeling very happy and proud there are some noble souls like your family following Periyavas teachings to the core.

You are right; temple Gho Mathas really stand a very sorry figure these days. Actually I’m privileged to be involved in working with a very kind gentleman whose mission is only to rescue temple Gho Mathas from going for slaughter. He has over 20 years of experience in Gho Samrakshanam and has all the Gho related information in his finger tips. Please take a look at the following website to know more details. If there is any way you can spread the word around it will be great as well. You can also contact me at girishsai108@gmail.com for more details. Ram Ram

  2. Dear Sri Maheshji, normally people tell us not to tell dreams, lest it will not fruitify, I pray to Sri Ghodha devi, Sri Gho mata and Sri Mahaperiyavaa to bless adiyen and share a unique dream / darshan adiyen had today morning just before waking up.. it was like I was near some flearing in forest with mangroves in background, I saw Sri Mahaperiyavaa, Sri Vishnu and Sri Indra appear and gift me with a black and white native cow and say its name is sabala.. I bow down before all of them and receive Ghomatha with respect and ask what is such worthy deed that adiyen did for this gift, for which Mahaswamy was saying something to the other 2 of them.. couldnt get what he was speaking.. When I woke up, I saw at my entrance of home a full dark brown cow. I just thanked Sri Periyavaa and Ghomatha and proceeded with my day happily..

  6. Dear Magesh Sir, One small request. For sharing the articles, Facebook and twitter are options available. Thanks for the same.. If there is also option of sharing the articles through (Whats App) it will also be great. Pl do not mistake me. Namaskaram for all your service to Maha Periyava!!!

  7. Thanks a lot to FB Paramacharya Community for the translation.

    26. United Society in the service of the Cow

I believe that if awareness is created among our vast population about the need for this service, the requisite finance and the required volunteers will become available. It is enough if a few people get together at different places and start making efforts with perseverance. What should be noted in this is that there should not be a complete dichotomy between those who give money and those who volunteer to do physical service. The one who contributes money should also render some physical service and the one who volunteers to do physical service should also contribute some money. Only then, there will be a total involvement of all people.
Apart from this, in the society too, instead of there being two separate groups of people – those who contribute money and those who render physical service – all people will come together as one family and as children of Gho Matha.

My wish is that in addition to we Hindus coming together as a family in the service of the cow, we have to carry this message with love to people of other religions also, involve them so that the entire society comes together as a family for doing the service. Religious affinity may take different forms for different people but since compassion to animals is common to all, all religionists in our country should come together on this basis. That is my wish.
