We all do aradhana for Mahaperiyava. However, Shri Chandrasekhar (a.k.a Pappayee), son of Brahmsri Ganapathi sastrigal, elder brother of Sri Mahaperiyava has been doing shraadham for Sri Mahaperiyava for the past 20 years. The way how he says that he would address Sri Sivan Sir is just so beautiful! Short interview. For me, this is the first time, I am seeing someone who is a poorvashrama relative of Sri Mahaperiyava.
Now he is sick and remembers only Sri Mahaperiyava. Unless we remember Mahaperiyava during our healthy normal days, it would not be possible to think about Him during our last days…..Clearly, this mama has been thinking only about Periyava all his life….

I wish to say a few things here and hope this is permissible under SANATHANA DHARMAM.
My grand father( father’s father) and my sister’s father- in- law,both took APATSANYASAM and died shortly thereafter.They were not cremated but laid to as we have seen when Maha Periva died. my father and my brother- in- law,both were doing ARADANA on the previous day of the shardathithi and regular shardathithi on the shardathithi.Perhaps this is permissible.I wish a clarification from the learned pundits in the matter.
For Shri Shri Govinda Damodara Swamigal, whose adhistanam is at Pazhur, yearly sraadham is done by His porvasrama sons on the thithi of the day HE attained sidhdhi and on the next day yearly aaradhana at Pazhur is taking place in a grand manner every year for the last more than 10 years.

We were thinking that srardham can not be performed for Yogis and Sanyasis. As we see all saints are worshipped by aradhana. But now it’s clear that bhakthi is paramount and not the procedure. Periyava Thiruvadigale Charanam.
Even for sanyasi their purvashrama relation in the position of son has to do shraddam and do Tirtha narayana puja after that. I want to clarify to the readers here
