ஆயிரக்கணக்கான தாயார் தகப்பனார்கள் நூற்றுக் கணக்கான பிள்ளைகள், மனைவிகள் இந்த உலகத்தில் பிறக்கிறார்கள். மேல் லோகத்திற்கும் போகிறார்கள். மற்றவர்கள் கதியும் இதே மாதிரிதான். ஆயிரக்கணக்கான நேரங்களில் சந்தோஷமும், நூற்றுக்கணக்கான நேரங்களில் பயமும் ஏற்படுகிறது. அவைகளை அஞ்ஞானிகள் மட்டும் அநுபவிக்கிறார்கள். ஆனால் விவேகியைத் தாக்காது. தூக்கிய கைகளுடன் உரக்கக் கத்துகிறேன்; ஆனால் ஒருவரும் கேட்பதில்லை. தர்மம்தான் சொத்தும் ஆனந்தமும் ஆகும். ஆகையால் தர்மத்தை ஏன் கடைப்பிடிக்கக்கூடாது? சந்தோஷத்திற்காகவும், பயத்திற்காகாவும், காமத்திற்காகவும் ஒருவரும் தர்மத்தை விடக்கூடாது. ஏன்! உயிருக்காகவும் தர்மத்திலிருந்து நழுவக்கூடாது. தர்மம்தான் சாஸ்வதம்.. ஜீவன் இருக்கிற சரீரம் சாஸ்வதமில்லை; ஜீவன்தான் சாஸ்வதம். யார் இந்த ‘பாரத சாவித்ரி’யை விடியற்காலையில் எழுந்திருந்து படிக்கிறானோ அவன் மஹாபாரதம் முழுவதும் படித்த புண்ணியத்தைப் பெற்று முடிவில் ப்ரஹ்மஞானத்தை அடைவான்.
