It was the year 1954, MahaPeriyava was visiting Chennai in “Pallaaku”. Pattina Pravesam. People heard & was waiting all over. Periyava was crossing Saidapet. Sri Neelakanta Iyer was working in Simpsons & was waiting in Gopalapuram for Periyava. He was overflowing with devotion but had his last darshan only in Tindivanam 42 years ago. Now in Saidapet, Sri Anantharamakrishna Iyer, Proprietor of Simpsons was coming along & was requesting permission to lifting the palaquin. Periyava was saying later.
(2) Periyava has now reached Gopalapuram and crossing Sri Krishna Kovil in Gopalapuram. Sri Neelakanta Iyer’ was waiting at the entrance of his home with all his relatives kids but was only prepared for Periyava’s darshan on the road among 1000s & not prepared with Poornakumbamam, Arathi etc. But suddenly Periyava entered Sri Mama’s home & asked an astonishing question…
Apparently, Sri Neelakanta Mama was recollecting the darshan he had 42 years ago in Tindivanam when Periyava was just 19 years old (1922). Ah! Here, Periyava has come nearer, his heart rate has increased when Periayava was looking at him & in fact, in fact walking towards his home. Periyava has asked the question “நீ… நாற்பத்தி இரண்டு வருஷத்துக்கு முன்னே திண்டிவனத்துல drama-ல ஆஞ்சநேய வேஷம் போட்டவன் தானே?” Hearing the incident as a teen, he has put a drama at Sri Anjaneya Temple Utsavam as Sri Anjaneya, after which they were taken to Periyava who was just 22 years gave darshan. Instantly, Sri Neelakantan Mama developed devotion. So a devotional reply came back…
Sri Mama, “ஆமா பெரியவா. அதே பையன்தான் நான். அப்பா பெரியவா குடுத்த அக்ஷதைய, இன்னமும் நான் பத்திரமா வச்சிருக்கேன்!”
Sri Mama as a teen, has preserved akshadai from a Sanyasi (22 year old) for 42 years! No wonder his bhakthi enum thee has lit Sri Ramadurai Mama & got him so many blessings. Oh Prabhu! Periyava! Prayers to you to give us a spark of such devotion within this janma.
Periyava has asked for that Akshadai & Sri Mama brought & shown. Periyava has blessed all “க்ஷேமமா இரு!”.

Please verify and correct the following inconsistencies in the narration (after verifying with the source):
1. 42 years before 1954 should be 1912 not 1922
2. Periva must be 18 years old not 22 at that time (else the event happened in 1916).
The reason one should be particular with these trivialities is that errors like these serve to discredit the veracity of the message and the narration itself in the mind of a neutral reader, which is unfortunate. We know Periva taught us to be mindful of even the smallest things and getting them right in what ever he did.
Indeed, it is apt that this very event serves to remind us of his memory of a small event 42 years earlier!
