Sri Veezhinathan Mama was a Prof. in Madras University and have given a discourse on Srimad Ramayana. Sri TMP Mahadevan has said it was nice & asked him to continue every week.  Sri Veezhi Mama was bit worried about consistent quality of delivering such discourse. He was having not only darshan with MahaPeriyava but also interacting with him regularly. So he has expressed his concern to Periyava.
Periyava has told, “நல்லா பண்ணேன்!” Also added, “நீ சொல்லி முடிச்சவுடனே எல்லோரும் கை தட்டுவா. மாலை போடுவா. உனக்கு தலை கிர்ர்ர்னு சுத்தும். அப்புறம் படிப்பு வராது!”. (After you are done with your discourse, all of them will give a big applause…they will put garlands for you…pride will go up to your head….once that happens, your studies will end). Mama was confused whether to continue or not and looked at Periyava for solution and Periyava has continued…

“நீ, என்ன பண்ணு… எல்லாத்தையும் எனக்கு சமர்ப்பணம் பண்ணிடு!” (I suggest you do samarpan of all those appreciations to me) Mama got relieved and taken the word from Periyava and continued the discourses.  Sri Vezzhi Mama has since then continue these discourse even few years before in Sankara Nethralaya but he always ‘samarpans’ all those to Periyava…

Because of Mama we too got this great guidance to avoid the great slip of having pride & getting our ego swollen. Whatever we do, let all be a ‘samarpan’ to MahaPeriyava..
