ஒரு செல்வந்தர் தரிசனத்துக்கு வந்தார். பெரியவாள் உத்திரவிட்டால், அதன்படி தரும காரியங்களுக்கு செலவு செய்யத் தயாராக இருப்பதாகக் கூறினார்.

பெரியவா சொன்னார்கள்.

“உன் வீட்டிலுள்ள வயோதிகர்களிடம் பக்தி,சிரத்தையுடன் பழகு. உன்
சம்சாரத்திடம் அன்பாக இரு.கூடியவரையில் தப்புக்காரியங்கள் செய்யாமல் இரு. அதுவே போதும்…..”

பெரியவாள், ‘மடத்துக்குப் பண உதவி செய்’ என்று கேட்பார்கள் என்று எதிர்பார்த்து வந்த செல்வந்தருக்கு, பெரியவாளின் பதில் ஆச்சர்யத்தைத் தந்தது.மடத்துக்கு என்று எதுவும் கேட்காமல், முற்றிலும் வேறு
விதமாகச் சொல்லிவிட்டார்களே……எப்படியும்  பெரியவாளை மடக்கிவிட வேண்டும்…….

“சாமி சொன்னபடியெல்லாம் நடக்கிறேன்; இனி மேலும் நடப்பேன்….மேற்கொண்டு உத்திரவு போட்டாலும் அடியேன் செய்வேன்…”

சிறிது மௌனத்துக்குப் பின் பெரியவாள்…. கூறினார்கள்!

“உங்களுக்கெல்லாம் குலதெய்வம்,அய்யனார் அந்தக் கோயில் முன்புறம் உள்ள குதிரைச் சிலை {சிமெண்ட்) பழுதாகியிருக்கிறது.அதையெல்லாம்
சரிப்படுத்தி, வர்ணம் பூசி, கோயில் திருப்பணி நடத்தி கும்பாபிஷேகம் செய்…”

வந்த அடியார் திடுக்கிட்டே போனார்.

“ஆமாங்க சாமி, எங்க ஐயா (அப்பா) சாவறதுக்கு முன்னாடி, இந்த விஷயத்தைச் சொன்னாருங்க. நாந்தான் மறந்துட்டேன்…எங்க அய்யா
சொன்னதையே சாமி சொல்றீங்க…எப்படி?”

அதுதானே ‘எப்படி’

‘அய்யா’ வந்து ‘சாமி’யிடம் சொல்லிவிட்டுத்தான் மேலே போயிருப்பாரோ?

செல்வந்தர் உத்திரவு பெற்றுக்கொண்டு மிகவும் மனத்திருப்தியுடன் போய்விட்டார்.

நமக்கென்ன கவலை.?

Once, a rich man came for Darshan. He said that if Periyava issued an order, he was ready to donate money for any Dharmic activity.
Periyava said, “Behave well with your elders at home. Be loving to your wife. As far as possible, do not do wrong things. That’s enough”
The rich man who was expecting that Periyava would ask him to donate money to the SreeMatham, was surprised with Periyava’s response. Without asking anything for the SreeMatham, He had said something totally different….I need to persist with Periyava and get Him to ask something from me….
“I’m doing exactly as Saami says; in the future also, I will do so. If you order me to do something else also, I’m prepared to execute it”
After a brief moment of silence, Periyava said, “Ayyanar is the ‘Kuladeivam’ for you all; the cement statue of the horse that’s in front of the temple has become old. Get that fixed and painted and perform Kumbabhishekam to the temple”
The devotee was left stunned.
“Yes, Saami, before dying, my father asked me to do exactly this. I totally forgot about it. Now, Saami is saying exactly what my father said. How is this possible ?”
Yes, that’s right. How ?!
Maybe his father might have told ‘Saami’ before going Up ?
The rich man went on his way to execute the order, extremely satisfied.
