Had been to Orikkai to have darshan on 26th. Met Shri Kumaresan. Lot of pending works. He was requesting for contribution to complete the pending works. Very big single stone Nandi is waiting to
perch on a pedestal to be constructed to start with. Hope with Periva’s anugraha pending works will
get completed.

I have been to this Shrine within weeks after the First Kumbhabishekam. I had the opportunity to do pradhakshinam of Periayava inside the sanctum. Any one who had been there recently can you please let me know if we are allowed to do the same now.?
I would like to share Mahaa Periyava’s Anugraham which took me to Manimandapam at Orikkai. It was in November 2011, I Met Shri. EVKS Mani (Mani Mama is publishing Panchangam for Kanchi Mutt. I used to visit him often) and was telling him that having plans to go Kanchipuram on coming Sunday (13th November 2011) to have a darshan at Adhistanam and then to go to a village called Sevilimedu to have darshan of Lord Lakshmi Narasimha Swami.
On hearing my schedule Mani Mama was telling me “Periyava Ungala Orikkai Vara Solra”, but I told him that I don’t know where the orikkai is, so let me see. But Mama was insisting me to go to Orikkai. But, Still, I said let me see.
As per my plans, on the particular Sunday, Myself with my brother with our families reached Kanchipuram at around 6.00 pm, by bus. Since, it was 6.00 pm we decided to go to Sevilimedu first and then to Kanchi mutt. So, we have engaged two auto rickshaw’s, one for my family and other for Brother and told the Auto driver’s to go to sevilimedu.
After few kilometers I guessed the auto is going in different direction and unable to find the other auto in which my brother is travelling. So, I asked the auto driver “Are we going in right way” and the reply was “Yes, we are” but, again after a kilometer, still I had a doubt and asked him again “Are we in right way”, the reply was “ Don’t disturb! We are on the right way ”. After a couple of kilometers travel the driver stopped the vehicle and asked us to get down (it was around 7:00 pm )! I got wild and shouted at him and said “I asked you to go Sevilimedu and you said are in right direction, but, now you have stopped vehicle in different place and asking us to get down, and unable to find the other auto on which my brother was coming. What do you think?”
But, the auto driver was very cool and he was saying, you are in correct place only, don’t waste time go and have Darshan before they close the temple. I got wild and told him, “it’s my fate I am listening to you” and walked few yards and asked a person who was coming after darshan, Which temple is that. The Reply was “Maha Periyavaa Mani Mandapam” . Yes the Auto driver took us to orikkai inspite of my repeated reminder about Sevilimedu” . How this happened? It was Periyava who took us to Mani Mandapam.
Had darshan at Manimandapam and came back, requested auto driver to forgive us, because shouted at him.
