  1. Very divine picture. we get Blessings from smiling Sri Guruvaayurappan and the two Periyavas. Great attitude of Sri Periyava to Maha Periyava! Lesson to all of us as to how we must act in front of Mahans! Jaya Jaya Sankara, Hara Hara Sankara!

  3. So realistic.. This is one painting which has depicted the Mahaperiaval and the Shishya with photographic clarity and integrity, enriched by the soul that lies in a brush.

I would like to tell here something interesting which may not have direct relevance to Paramacharya, but supports His statements on many occasions about how the civilization based on Veda Dharma was in times past spread all across the world.

You see this stance of the Shishya, head bent in reverence and humility, with his hand covering his mouth? I have not seen this particular attitude and expression of humility in any civilization anywhere in the world except in the Bhaarathiya culture. A few years ago, there was an article in the National Geographic on the ancient civilizations of western Asia. There was a photograph of a carving on a stone wall which showed courtiers standing in front of the King, I do not remember whether it was Hammurabi or the later Nebuchadnezzar. The courtier was in EXACTLY The same stance, head bent, with hands covering his mouth. This struck me as this posture is unique to our culture.

When I saw this painting I was reminded of the photo. I hope some historian among the readers will note this for further research.
